Thanksgiving. Ready and waiting.....

What?!
Please tell me that you are joking. That stuff is vile.

Don't you own it to your children to give them good memories of delicious meals that you prepared FROM SCRATCH, and with love?

Just because your mom was a terrible cook, doesn't mean that you have to be terrible, too.

If you do feed that nasty stuff to your kids, you must not love them very much.

I ♥ Stove Top Stuffing :frown:

Is it crazy that I already have my Thanksgiving dinner already planned out, down to the last detail.

Menu. Check.
Shopping list. Check.
Meal preperation timeline. Check.
Item placement on the table. Check.
Appropriate serving vessels and proper utencils selected. Check.
Linens chosen. Check.

I love doing this stuff. :yay:

Having Fun!
Try this link:Turtle Pumpkin Pie recipe .

IFYI: prefer my pumpkin baking items a little more savory, so I tend to add in more spices to my mixture.

Oh, yum! I've been making the plain old version of that pie for years -- hubby has a fit if I talk about having something else. Maybe I'll try this one this year.

And I hope you know that I'll be holding you responsible for any extra pounds that might be gained as a result of this recipe...

BTW, it's nice to know that there are other CDO folks out there...

:faint: Are you my mom?! :cds:

:yeahthat:

My mother has it down to a laminated index card that she reuses each year. It starts a few days out, and shows what she makes what days before hand, and then on Thanksgiving it gives updates on the hour of what to do when...

My index card isn't laminated...yet.

No, it's not crazy at all. I usually have my Thanksgiving dinner planned down to the last detail as well... Including the little pepperoni & cheese things Mrs Toxick makes while we watch football. I'm going to have 3 of those.

I don't usually cook the meal, or do any preparation beyond carving the bird, but I already know how much turkey I'm going to eat, how much corn, potatoes, stuffing, fried mushrooms, cranberry sauce and how many biscuits I'm going to eat. I've had this planned for weeks! I can't wait.

I also know that lunch on Friday will be a turkey sandwich containing 3 slices of bread (one soaked in gravy to be placed in the middle, turkey skin, some dark meat, a potato/stuffing mixture and 3 tbsp of mayonaisse topped with crispy lettuce.

You're not crazy at all.

I love doing this stuff. :yay:

I love everything between Halloween and New Year's so much.

I love Stove top too, as do all of my siblings, my poor mom has tried numerous times to make "real" stuffing from scratch, each time we shoot her down and ask for Stove Top.....
