I thought you had the same recipe as the rest of the family.
Get in car
Drive to Fancybelle's
Eat until you almost pass out
Drive home and lay on sofa/recliner saying how miserably stuffed you are
30 minutes later ask for a sandwich.

Did you forget the "drink all the beer" part or does that go without saying?:lmao:

All of these recipes sound absolutely delish but.......

Does anyone have a really good recipe for Stuffing made in the Crock Pot? Amongst the many things I have to do this holiday season, there's a luncheon I'm going to attend. I'd like to bring stuffing however, I dont want to have to bake it and the crock pot would be so much easier.
HELP PLEASE

Celebration EggNog

6 eggs, separated
1 C sugar
1 pint bourbon
1 Quart heavy whipping cream
nutmeg to taste

Beat the egg yolks until they are light yellow. Add 2/3 cup of the sugar and beat well. The yolks should be beaten until they are thick and lemon colored. Slowly add the bourbon, beating all the time. Set aside. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until they are stiff but not too dry, add the remaining 1/3 c sugar a little at a time as you beat. Then, slowly pour the egg-sugar-bourbon mixture into the egg whites, folding it in ever so gently. Whip the cream, fold it into the mixture. Warm the mixture just a bit to serve. Sprinkle with nutmeg. The eggnog can also be served chilled.

I know someone who makes some fresh cranberry fruit thing that is sooooo yummy. I wonder if it's the same or close to it.

Brandied Cranberry Sauce

Prep and cook time: About 1 hour
Notes: Sauce can be made up to 1 week ahead. To serve warm, reheat in a microwave oven.
Makes: About 2 cups; 10 to 12 servings

1 package (12 oz.) fresh or thawed frozen cranberries
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 to 1/2 cup brandy
2 tablespoons finely shredded orange peel

1. Sort cranberries and discard any soft or spoiled ones. Rinse and drain berries.

2. Mix cranberries, sugar, brandy, and orange peel in an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish. Bake, uncovered, in a 325° oven until berries are tender when pierced and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or cool.

My mother does a fabulous corn pudding that she won't give anyone the recipe for.

I mean, she WILL give you the recipe, but she leaves stuff out. I'll say it turned out a little dry, and she'll go, oh yeah, you need to use cream style corn with the niblets. Then I'll be like, it didn't taste as rich as yours does, and she'll say, well, you might not have used enough butter. And I'll say, butter? You didn't put butter on the recipe, you said skim milk. And she'll say, well, you need some butter.

That's what I always loved about my grandmother - when I asked her how to make something she told me step-by-step everything, and I could make it just like her the first time.
