That explains it.... Tipping is Racist.

This is the way. I'm not interested in subsidizing the labor costs of an eating establishment. Pay them according to the value they deliver to your restaurant, or don't go into business at all, damn cheapskates.

Your hypocrisy on full display. Calling everyone cheapskates yet say your not interested in tipping. I bet you send food back all the time to. You’re a servers worst nightmare

This is due to 1 demographic being notorious for being lousy tippers in addition to running wait staff ragged with myriads of requests. Big after church parties leaving some religious pamphlet in lieu of tip.

Witnessed this exact thing at a dining establishment over in short pump Virginia a few weeks ago.

You've obviously never worked in a service industry, which doesn't surprise me.

"Forced to grovel for tips :drama: "
:lmao:

And your previous comment "have to fake being perky"
:roflmao:

I interact with many service industry types on a daily basis. Chit chat with the checkout clerk, bullshetting with the barber, small talk with the septic pumper, etc. It's all normal/casual.

But the server who wants to sit with me in the booth or tell me how beautiful my grandson is when he is covered in snot and is trying to stick a crayon in his ear? Rubs me the wrong way.

Well, you reading comprehension is off. I have ZERO problem tipping in the current environment. I'm 30% minimum.

My comments are nothing more than observations that our "dance like a monkey while you bring me bottomless mimosa so you can be worthy of a tip" restaurant culture is utter trash.

How is that different than the stuff people have to put up with in every single job ever?

I don't know where you go, but I rarely encounter intrusive servers. Typically they're friendly and pleasant, but most of them don't have time to sit down and become your new best friend because they're busy.

You just sound like a grouch.

Beats me. I've never worked in a setting where I had to "put up" with stuff. And I've never worked for a tip in my life. No -- working jobs like that doesn't make one a "better person". It just makes one realize how stupid they must be to not be able to cultivate other options.

I am a grouch, but apparently I am an approachable one. You must have resting and active bitch face so they leave you alone.

Well aren't you special? Most people have had a cranky boss or cranky customers or a supply screw up or something at some point in their lives.

You should teach a class, tell everyone else in the world how you do it.

Typically my servers are quite friendly, they just don't attempt to move in with us. But I also don't consider someone complimenting my kid a heinous capital offense.

Sorry. I'm not "most people". I've only worked with professionals in a professional office setting.

The only cranky people there were women who bled and cried for a week every 28 days or so. They're easy to ignore.

That's hilarious. You think the person who wants them to be paid better and not be forced to grovel for your tips is the one that doesn't value them.
You make your servers grovel? You cold, heartless bastard!!
