The 19th Brickyard 400

It's the once a year chance for the drivers of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It's also the once a year chance for NASCAR fans to catch up on sleep while watching a race at the same time.

Tony Stewart
Jeff Gordon
Darth Johnson
Martin Truex, Jr.
Kasey Kahne

To think, now they're running the Nationwide Series at the big track instead of the real stock car track in Indianapolis over at Lucas Oil Raceway. If things go as planned, I'll be at a real racetrack watching a real race while the Nappytime 250 Nationwide race is going on.

One bonus point to the person who accurately guesses how many naps I take during this annual snorefest. I've seen every single Brickyard 400 and I've taken nap(s) during most of them. The only time I didn't take a nap during this race was in 2008 because that race was so hilariously awful, like the Redskins, that you had to keep watching the trainwreck.

And as boring as all but two of the races have been in 2012, and how boring Indianapolis usually is, I can only imagine how god awful this one will be. Maybe they'll manage to get their caution free race with zero lead changes and zero on-track passes that they've been trying so hard to accomplish for the Brickyawn 400. :yay:

Funny stuff. Jeff Gordon won the inaugural Brickyard 400 but when Dale Sr won it the next year in it's second running he proclaimed himself the first 'Man' to win the Brickyard.
:killingme:killingme:killingme:killingme:killingme

Damn I miss that Man :notworthy

Remember, the races are on ESPN and ABC for the remainder of the season.

Good riddance TNT.

The ARCA series races at IRP tonight :yay:

Damn shame NASCAR dumped that track because they'd rather the Cup drivers overload the crappy Nationwide race that will be a snorefest on an incredibly boring track.

Brian France is destroying NASCAR, piece by piece.

Frank Kimmel, who is to ARCA what Cal Ripken is to the Orioles, has not won a race since September 2008.... leading at IRP.

FINALLY!!!! Frank Kimmel returns to victory lane for the first time since 2008 for his 75th career win! :yahoo:

He showed those young whippersnappers how it's done. :yay:

Follow that up, NASCAR.

Nationwide race was a joke. Here's the summary:

There were like 100 people there.

Kyle Busch jumps the start, NASCAR calls it legal saying Kahne was too slow on the start.

Danica Patrick dumped Clevalley's favorite driver (Reed Sorenson).

Kyle Busch dominated before taking himself out.

Elliott Sadler was penalized for jumping a restart at the end of the race when Brad Keselowski got a slow restart. Sadler appealed, saying Keselowski didn't get going (which is correct) and saying he was shoved across the line by Austin Dillon on the restart (which is also correct).

Basically, it's legal to jump restarts if you're Kyle Busch. :yay:

The ARCA race was the real race.
