Where did the Democrats go wrong?
- It turns out people DON'T like being called garbage, deplorable, nazis, fascists, evil, and generally being denigrated around the clock for 8 straight years. And rather than changing their minds, people tend to dig their heels in. Go figure.
- Two assassination attempts is not a good optic for the party of the would-be assassins.
- Blood streaming down your face with your fist in the air shouting "fight-fight-fight", however, is.
- It would have been smart to consider that people DON'T like paying $275 for $100 worth of groceries. And let's not forget where gas WAS compared to where gas IS. No, I know that presidents do not control the price of gas, but to think their policies don't influence the price is naive and kinda pathetic.
- Has the media never heard of The Streisand Effect? Really?
- Most people know when their being gaslit. Being called a fascist by people who employ fascist tactics (censorship, persecution, and ultimately assassination attempts) at every turn did not go unnoticed. Might want to rethink that strategy over the next 4 years.
- Most people, it seems, did not believe the transparent attempts to convince them that abortions would become illegal, and women would become BraveNewWorldish victims, and that brown and black people would be gassed or shot on sight, and martial law would be declared.
- People seemed to understand that none of the horrible things that the media promised would happen, happened the first time Trump was president. This implies that it will likely not happen this time either.
- Biden sending Conex boxes full of our money and weapons to the Ukraine, while our own people live on the streets and struggle at the pump and in the grocery stores - and then demonizing anyone who didn't want to send EVEN MORE money to them - was NOT a great strategy. Even with the Russia Bogeyman threat.
- Weaponizing the courts against your political opponents - WOW that was stupid. Especially when the appellate court reverses the decision and threatens sanctions against the first batch of turds. Talk about bad optics.
- Installing an extremely unpopular candidate, instead of having one elected. Whoa! That wasn't smart.
- Pretending that Biden was smart, capable, on top of his game and in the prime of his life - when he was CLEARLY in cognitive decline, and barely holding it together for the cameras - for FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS. God, that was really not smart. If they're going to hide that, what else are they hiding?
- The appearance of peace and tranquility does not necessarily mean submissive and spread-eagle. In other words if someone (or a group of someone's) isn't squawking and screeching that doesn't mean you can just try to **** them nine ways to Sunday.
- Simply calling someone a felon and a rapist, does not in fact make them a felon or a racist.
- The above actually motivated the Garbage, instead of intimidating them into staying home under a blanket. Seems the media's attempt to suppress the conservative voice, in fact, energized it.
- There's more, but I need to get moving....
I have never been secretive of my distaste for Trump. I do not think he's a great person. This has been my position since the 1980's and through the Apprentice Era when everyone called him "The Donald" and stroked his balls, ever so gently. But I think Harris would have been a pox on this nation. The economy would be laying in shambles and the culture would collapse into a Woke dystopian nightmare. (I honestly believe that is our fate regardless, but hopefully this will delay it until after I'm dead and buried).
That said, he wasn't a bad president. I don't want a big slobbering pussy running the country. We need someone strong, unemotional and frankly, a huge doucher.
So although I don't like him I think he'll do a lot better than she would have. Especially if the last 4 years are any indication and since she was VP, it is an indication.
And every so often I think the media will FINALLY get it.
I have no such delusions this time around. They won't get it and they will double down on their bullshit when J.D. Vance is running, and they'll try to convince us he's terrible. I hope he does a good enough job in the interim that they won't matter.
