The '80s - glad I was drunk

I actually went to that Van Halen concert. My Stepmother worked for a DC lawyer and he gave us sky suite tickets. What a show! One of my first concerts.

Damn! $13.75 for Van Halen.

With D.L.R. and it was general admission. Notice Sammy played later that year too. Both shows are in my top ten.

There may have been 500 people at the Sammy-Krokus show. Paid $6 for two tickets. Everybody sat down front with lots of space. It was a weird atmosphere in that big building.
Didn't know anything about Krokus but was an instant fan and Sammy was supporting the I Can't Drive 55 nonsense. He did play that one song but then did the Montrose album, Heavy Metal and a few choice covers.
To say that Sammy entertained would be such an understatement. He played liked there was 100,000 people in the audience. I'll always give him props for that.
Hated Van-Hagar though.

I was in tenth grade. Everybody wanted to be on Eddie's side of the stage. It was too crazy! I was on the floor right at center ice.
The older guy who drove us ended up being in the Panama video (partly filmed there).

Agree, I was never a Van Sammy fan either. Luckily, I had some awesome older siblings and was able to go to that Van Halen/1984 tour, the Billy Idol/Rebel Yell, Motley Crue/Shout and Prince/Purple Rain. All four were incredible!

I had fun in the 80's too

It's hilarious to watch the 80's music videos now, but they were "cutting edge" then

Does anyone remember

I had my children in the 80's (I was in my 30's), so I missed the party! I have to say the Stones were and always will be awesome! But, no one can replace the Beatles. I am a hippie flower girl at heart!

Surely you jest ...
Mommy years for me, too. Luckily our neighbor had kids the same age and we were able to swap nights out. That and my son and I danced a lot to MTV videos. Maybe that's why he's got similar tastes in music.

Soothing country tunes and my love of oldies/Motown ruled my 80's. This scene from Corrina Corrina brings a tear to my eye. This is exactly how my girls and I cleaned back when they were little. No my house never looked like that lol, same singing and dancing while we cleaned though. It made it fun, not work. Quality time with a side of being and feeling productive.

I saw Van Halen in 81 (I think), they had just exploded. Can't remember what the tickets were. Those were my Mommy years too (90s too) but still got out once in awhile to a concert.

My "time" was actually the 70s. Still love the old Stones stuff from the 60s and 70s and of course, The Beatles.

Loved the 80's (class of 83). I kept all my concert ticket stubs and the 80's hairbands are still my music of choice today. :larry:

I loved the '80's. Everything was fun and colorful. Hair, fashion, music, clubbing, beaching, boating. In the '80's I was in Key West, West Palm Beach and Spain. :heavysigh: I miss those days.
