The Butler

I would love to watch but since I know it being an Oprahization of American history.. after reading reviews elsewhere, I choose not to waste my time.

I dislike Oprah in a big way and stay away from any and all she touches.

I hope someone in the future will remake this movie and tell the truth.

And you were right! :dingding: Watched it last night and it sucks big time. Another of the "white man done me wrong" propaganda, in my humble opinion only of course. I think it could've been a good movie, but, stereotypical depiction of the oppressed, with a definite Oprah swing to it.

Thank God it wasn't nominated for an Academy Award...I thought it would just because of the subject matter and the fact that Oprah was in it...
I did not see it. I'm sick of the movies that depict "white man done me wrong".
When are the blacks going to just let it go. I guess never....

When we were on our cruise, they showed The Butler on the big screen by the pool. Kids were sitting around thinking they were going to show Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Boy were they surprised. We weren't even sure what movie it was at first, they didn't show the opening credits, just jumped right into it. Don't think it was an appropriate movie to show on a cruise, let alone to kids. We only stayed long enough to see what movie it was, then went to the casino.

What a horrible thing to show on a cruise!!! I hope the audience complained big-time! I sure would have...

does anyone here think the way that I do--that if the black people are always going to torture us with their ways because of slavery, etc., and that if they are so unhappy here in the states , then they should just go back to Africa and leave the whites alone. When is it going to stop? Enough is enough. The blacks are like a cancer, ravaging on the very souls of our white people...the blacks themselves preach to themselves to hate the white people. If they keep teaching their children to hate white people growing up, it will never end!!! We all have causes to fight for. Women's equality for example and the rights of the gays/lesbians...all are important. But I don't consider them a cancer set out to destroy the rest of us. They live with it and work on their causes. As far as I know, they don't teach each other to hate anyone who doesn't agree with them.
When are the blacks going to stop spreading/ teaching hatred to the upcoming generations????

I cant believe they showed it to kids. I don't think its a movie small children should see. Hope you had luck in the casino.

I think that this is feeding into "teaching" the children to hate white people. This is a huge problem in America! I wish something could be done to stop things like this...whose ever idea this was, should be fired!
When/ how can we make the point, that enough is enough!!!

That man served in the White House for 34 years! I for one would love to sit by the man's feet asking questions and listening to him.

The "white man is bad " aside, my opinion is all who took part with the making of this film, acting, etc. should be ashamed. What a disservice to Eugene Allen.

I found out that I absolutely love roulette. Usually I go in a only play slots, but we met with a bunch of people and took over the roulette table, we did well.

I'm a slot player too, however, the slots are not my friend. Always wanted to try roulette and black jack. May have to do it on the next cruise. Glad you had some luck,:buddies:

That's what I thought the movie was going to be about. His interaction with the presidents and stories of the meetings and such at the white house. Very disappointing film.

I liked the movie.

Granted, I thought it would be more about a butler and his interactions with Presidents (it did have some of that), and not a lesson on segregation.
