The Championship Race at Homestead

Am I in the minority that doesn't like Homestead? The only thing I found interesting was watching Kyle Larson rim ride the track. If Cup used the composite bodies like Xfinity, I think Larson would have won.

You must have watched the Xfinity race because that's exactly how Reddick won the Championship. Rode the top the whole race, and every time he brushed the wall the rear quarter panel of that composite body popped right back out!

P.S. Bell was doing it too but hit the wall too hard and blew a tire.

Does anybody know if Cup gets composite bodies next year?

Following a successful rollout of flange-fit bodies in the Xfinity Series, NASCAR is considering a similar path for the Monster Energy Cup Series as well. Although there has been discussion of implementing composite Cup pieces as early as 2019 on short tracks, a 2020 launch is more likely.

Thank You Calcopf for the nice trophy. Does that include a ticket to the Awards ceremony? You gave me a good battle down to the finish. Those 5 points that we get for picking the final champion really came into play with who I was going to pick to win the race. Being old like I am it really caused a wildfire on my brain Sunday morning with my picks. I had to block you by also picking who you picked to win the race (Kyle Busch). You had also picked Busch to win the whole thing. If that had happened you would have gotten 10 points. I worked out several scenario's that the max you could have gotten was 14 points, and I think you would have fallen 1 point behind me. If we would have had to go maybe 2 more weeks with races I think you would have caught me.

Thank you everyone for the congrats. I knew you could do it Homie, finishing last for what 10 years or so in a row. I thought you were going to blow it last week when you collected a lot of points.
