Both have good offenses, but I think that in the end, New England's Defense is better and that with be the deciding factor.

The Patriots always find a way to make it close...

McNabb and his illusiveness get it it done.

It CAN'T be that close!

All of the polls that I have seen here in Canada are the same way Larry. More and more, the Eagles support is picking up. People are starting to see that they have a real team with class and drive, with or without TO.

I'll just be happy when the damn game is over and all these idiots get the fluck out of here!

From a Man on the Ground view, I would give the edge to the Patriots. You can't go anywhere in Jax at night without tripping over an Eagle or Two. They're at all the clubs, malls, beaches, etc. I talked to two guys for about 20 minutes at The Landing the other night and had no idea they were Eagles. There's a lot of drining, eating, and good times for them. But the Patriots are no where to be seen. It's like they've been under lock & key since they got here.

As much as I would hate to see the Patriots win, I guess the trophy will go to the team that's at least sober.

By they way... the Steelers are #1! Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger are going to be at the Hooters on Wells Road this evening from 7:00 to 9:00, and about 300 of us Steelers fans are going to be there for the 2005 pep rally!

Hey Bruzilla...what in the H-E-double toothpicks is going on down there???? Listening to ESPN radio all week - doing nothing but questioning why in the heck the Super Bowl is in Jacksonville. Lot of bad karma being pumped out about the city - traffic, bridges being closed down, weather, poor accomodations, lack of transportation, etc....! Today, almout spit my soda out when they said Jacksonville really isn't part of Florida...it's South Georgia!

A lot of people starting to jump on the Eagles band wagon now that T.O. is supposed to play. I guess they were fence sitters waiting to hear the word. IMHO - I don't think he is 100% and will be much less effective than everyone thinks. Doctors refuse to clear him..but he plays anyway. Sat out the past 7 weeks and now only 4 days of practice before the big game? We'll see Sunday night, but I believe they (you all!) are putting way too much faith in the Eagles based only on T.O. playing. McNabb will be a force to reckon with, but he is managable.

Here is a clip from SI columnist Don Banks column - top 10 reasons why the Patriots will beat the Eagles:

1. Karma, baby. Loads and loads of sweet karma -- Let's face it sports fans, this is Boston's moment in the sun. The salad days. The golden era. Showtime for Beantown. Nothing but center stage for The Hub. At no risk of hyperbole, the seat of government in Massachusetts happens to be the sports capital of the universe about now.
The Patriots win the Super Bowl last February, and then the planets align for the first time in 86 years and the Red Sox -- the Red Sox, praise be -- win the World Series in October, beating the hated Yankees along the way. Clearly this is bigger than any of us. No one can stop the New England victory machine at this point. It's fated to be a glorious time to wear the red, white and blue.

The press has been tearing up Jax for weeks now. Jacksonville is not a major market city, and as a result we don't have a lot of the "ammenities" that sports writers are used to: casinos, hot and cold running hookers, five-star snob clubs, etc. We're Hooters and BBQ joints, while they are looking with longing at being comp'd at South Beach Miami clubs. These guys are wanting to go somewhere where they'll be treated like royalty, like Miami or New Orleans, and they're not being treated that way here... so they are pissed about it.

But they better get used to it. The NFL has changed it's policy for Superbowls, and this is the first one under the new one. They are moving away from having games at party cities (Miami, New Orleans, San Diego, etc.) and will be having games in cities that are in need of new stadiums, team support, etc., so the local teams can grow. If those putz writers don't like Jax, imagine how they're going to feel when they're dodging bullets in downtown Detroit! Jax is going to look awfully good in a year. :lmao:

By the way... the folks who do the NFL on Fox show are the coolest! We met a bunch of them out at Neptune Beach and they were fascinated with Krystal hamburgers (they're little burgers like White Castles if you know them.) And as for sports talkers, Tom Arnold is the coolest by far. Both times that we've gone to watch the taping of The Best Damn Sports Show... he's taken a lot of time to joke around with us, and the second time we came out he came over and said hi to me by name. I was pretty impressed!

TO is 100% healthy when it comes to his ankle/leg, doctors err on the side of caution. He's in a perfect position and he'll play it to the max, if he has a lousy game, he'll say he did his best considering the injury; if he lights the field up, he will say he played thru the pain (itsallaboutme.jpg)..The real key to the whole game is Westbrook, if he gains 80 or more yards in rushing/receiving in the 1st half, then the Eagles have a chance. I could be totally wrong, but I think the whole defensive stance of the Patriots will be on keeping Westbrook down. There is one great player on the Eagles, McNabb, and I don't see him beating the Patriots this year.

To the Eagles fans here, I wish you well, its so cool to have your team going for the gold..but I will never root for the Eagles..Go Patriots!!
