I love it. My wife refuses to eat there.

So, needless to say, it's been years since I ate there.

Used to be good tho.

Close, but SOS is like sausage gravy, but they use hamburger instead. :barf:

The first time I saw "creamed beef on toast" I was happy. Then I saw it and thought "Oh good, sausage gravy!"

Then I tasted it. It tastes like flour and grease. If you put a lot of Texas Pete on it, it tastes like flour, grease, and Texas Pete.

It seemed like they served it most when we were in heavy seas. I guess they liked the neat piles it made on the deck.

You should try it with Tuna instead of hamburger..

YUM!!

Though I have to admit, I'd love to be able to eat in an Army messhall again.. but just for breakfast. I miss the SOS, the eggs, the French Toast.

Had to fast for a blood draw this morning. Wish I had gone to the Frying Pan afterwards. Ate at Bob Evans and it was absolutely lousy food. Good service but the food sucked big time. Never had a bad breakfast at the FP.

Love the Frying Pan. Just went there last night. They do all of their seafood hand breaded to order. The salad dressings are homemade too. It was really good. Friendly staff too !! Who needs to eat frozen crap at the chains

It used to be one of THE places to go. It changed ownership (so I'm told), and now it sucks.

Either it's gotten better in the last few months, or you have low standards.

Breakfast is good. Every other meal I had there sucked.

We used to go there mainly for breakfast. A couple of years ago, it started getting really bad...even the bacon was deep fried, and badly at that. We stopped going there about 6 or 8 months ago...couldn't stomach it any more.

Are you kidding?

I was hoping he was kidding.

blech.

I make a killer sausage gravy to go on my breakfast biscuits. But then again..I made the sausage and its got a real 'kick' to it.
But I can like that Army favorite chipped beef stuff too..if its done right.

The ownership has NOT changed. Did you tell anyone there that you weren't satisfied with the food or just complain online? Not sure that Scott checks somd.com. :eyebrow:

They still have quite the crowd at breakfast, so someone likes their food. We have never had a bad meal there. And I've never seen anyone leave food on their plates.
