The future of Birth control

The Future: A free, 60-second, painless procedure is available to make men temporarily sterile for up to 5 years at a time. But guys are still too macho and afraid of anyone touching them "down there" to get it done.

Hell yeah... I'd do that... but not for 5 years... maybe go once every 1-2 years. Five years is a long time and you never know what might change in a 5 years span.

But noooooooo we have to go and feed people too stupid to feed themselves, or prevent contracting diseases. Wala, we have a thriving culture that requires endless support while they try their hardest to kill themselves.
I just want you all to acknowledge that I did NOT write that. Pete wrote that, not me!

Nice job, Pete! :yay:

Wish-craft...

If man instinctively weighed the risks, we'd all still live in caves.

If man instinctively weighed the risks, we'd all be vegetarians.

If man instinctively weighed the risks, there'd be no leaving on a jet plane or midnight trains to Georgia.

If man instinctively weighed the risks, there'd be no dates.

In short, men have a pair, which drives us to do some often crazy, stupid and rather thoughtless stuff.

Women figure it all out, organize it and make the best of it, taming us and putting us to good use in the process.

If you want to put someone in charge of birth control who is simply not the right man, so to speak, for the job, you do so at your own risk.

Interesting thoughts, Larry. Men as accelerator and women as brake. I think it makes sense to a point.

Still, shouldn't the goal of civilization be for humans to evolve to the point where our heads and hearts are in charge, and not our hormones and urges? Humans are (or should be) capable of settling disagreements and producing offspring without violence. If we as a species can never do without violence, what's the point of civilization? I'm not saying we should treat our urges as something evil to be suppressed, but surely civilization means achieving some kind of balance between urge and intellect.

Okay, this is bullshit! :burning: When I posted something along these lines awhile back, it took approximately 2 minutes for every nut with a computer to jump on and rip me a new one. Pete, on the other hand, seems to be getting a free pass. This is blatant sexism and I DEMAND satisfaction!!! Where's Jimmy? Where's BigBrotherCon?

*grrrrr* Friggin' sexists.

Tired lately, Larry? (Sorry, cheap shot from M*A*S*H...)

Seriously, Vrai, Pete might have been sexist if his example of "man interfering with nature" was something like "women were meant to stay home and raise kids instead of flying airplanes and running corporations."

Ever seen the movie "Equilibrium"? :yay: I highly recommend it as it touches base with your statements...

I'm not talking about PETE being sexist - I'm talking about all the nutties that had no qualms about picking on the defenseless little girl (ME!!) who talks about the merits of social darwinism, while giving the MAN a free pass when he says the same damn thing.

*grrrrr*

Perhaps they feel that comments from some neanderthal male is expected, but find it horrible that a female unit, maternal, squishy, nurturing sounds so uncaring. I find it quite sexy......Come to Pete..

Maybe that's the ultimate in social Darwinism--Pete and Larry fighting to see who will sire Vrai's children. The Forum version of Wild Kingdom.
