My father had a X11 hatchback with I think the motor was a 60 degree V6 with working cowl induction 4 speed that thing ran 14.97 in the 1/4 mile and that is with a poor shift linkage you had to shift slow because of the crummy linkage they had.

that 2.8l V6 was a dog ... a buddy had in an 85 Jeep Chrerokee Jeep XJ
I had one in a 1987 GMC version of the S10 Blazer. It was a dog, but great in 4WD. I couldn't spin the tires in snow. 😆

I just "acquired" a 4.3 to play with. I was thinking of building it as an non-computer controlled transplant for my S10. It ought to be fun with the original 5-speed manual.
I had an 85 S-10 4x4 I bought brand new from the factory, loved that thing.

Im sorry but that X11 wore out many a v8 cars of the day maybe they were geared differently than the grocery getter citation was.
