The GOP Health Care Plan Just Won’t Work

" They rarely agree on much, but health care experts on the left, right and center of the political spectrum have found consensus on the House GOP's Obamacare replacement: It won't work.

While their objections vary depending on their ideological goals, the newly introduced Affordable Health Care Act (AHCA) is facing an unrelenting wave of criticism. Some experts warn that the bill is flawed in ways that could unravel the individual insurance market.

The bill, experts said, falls far short of the goals President Donald Trump laid out: Affordable coverage for everyone; lower deductibles and health care costs; better care; and zero cuts to Medicaid. Instead, the bill is almost certain to reduce overall coverage, result in deductibles increasing, and will phase out Obamacare's Medicaid expansion. "

it was working exactly as it was designed to work. The flaw in your thinking was in assuming that it was supposed to be an insurance plan, when in actuality it was a plan to make you dependent on the govt.

Anthony Weiner, the Forest Gump of our era, he being seemingly everywhere, said on Morning Joe back in the day, I guess early '09, that the very point of the ACA, THE goal, was to ELIMINATE private insurance.

So let's just keep kicking that can. The insanity is driving me insane.

How about they just realize government doesn't belong in our healthcare decisions, and scrap the whole thing and let us decide what we want to do. No mandates, no tax incentives, no penalties for not doing this or that... if states want to do something, then let it pass in each state their own plan.

"Oh, Larry, that's just crazy talk! You can't just slam on the breaks like that. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know. These things take time."

I would go for that if they also stopped the restrictions they already have, like buying insurance across state lines and such.

But, I AM good with some incentives. For example, HSA is pre-tax, cost of insurance is tax deductible, etc.

I agree. From what I've seen it's nothing more than a re-wording of the ACA with a bunch of crap trimmed out that won't affect anything, and a bunch of other crap tossed in that won't fix anything.

Basically it looks like Republican's want to SAY they "repealed and revoked Obamacare" but they lack the balls to risk doing something drastic.

I think they lack the votes in the Senate, and need to push the first bill through via budget reconciliation, like the Dems did.

THEN we can find out if they lack the balls to do something once the ACA is technically "repealed", and it is a whole new plan (technically, if not actually) that has to be dealt with.

Basically it looks like Republican's want to SAY ....

from red eye radio this AM ...
basically the establishment GOP that trump is 'go team go' over PPACA are the same ones that wanted him to lose the election
and the others who are against the RyanCare Plan ... are the ones that supported Trump during the election
