The Inaugural Quaker State 400 at Kentucky

Inaugural events have been rare in NASCAR lately, since their schedule has been static. Inaugural events also tend to favor the young guys.

Jeff Gordon won at Indianapolis in 1994, Tony Stewart at Homestead in 1999, Kevin Harvick at Chicago in 2001 and Ryan Newman finishing second at Kansas in 2001.

Kentucky is also famous for producing first time winners even Joey Logano has won the last three Nationwide Series races at Kentucky. David Gilliland, Stephen Leicht and Joey Logano have all produced stunning first career wins at Kentucky.

That said, Logano's the shoe-in favorite for me.

Picks:

Kyle Busch
Jimmie Johnson
Carl Edwards
Kurt Busch
Brad Keselowski

We all have been pretty pitiful trying to pick the winner this year, when was the last time anyone picked the winner and got 35 points? :buddies:

Toppick 08 - Gordon at Phoenix

A lot of guys are sandbagging for the Chase. I think, come September, the usual suspects (Johnson, Harvick, Edwards and Hamlin) will be regulars in victory lane.

As far as Daytona and Talladega go, with this two-car tandem crap, your best bet is to draw names from a hat.

Somebody wake me up when this race is over:whistle:

This race was a horrible failure.

So, fans waited nine HOURS in traffic to get to the track. Sold out in advance. Fans get to the track halfway through the race and are sent home (without a refund) at the gate.

I would be laying mushroom clouds all over Sparta, KY if that happened to me. No excuse, they spent eight years lobbying (even filing lawsuits) for this race and EVERYTHING went wrong. Eight years to prepare.

This better be the last race at Kentucky.

1st 5 from Daytona or my 5 from the race prior, either way, it doesn't matter to me. I was at summer camp and had little/no connection or time to post. Thanks for taking the time to take care of me.
