I'm not usually too huge on romanctic films (too formulaic), but this one seems interesting and worth my time in theatres. For one, the two leads (Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock) are among my favorite actors and they shared great chemistry in Speed (a completely different film, but still). Also, I find it interesting how it seems to mix romance and sci-fi genres, the way one of my favorite romances of all-time (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet) did. I'll be seeing this one tomorrow night and I hope it's a good film.

I saw it this afternoon and thought it was great. It's been twelve years, but the Speed chemistry between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock is still there. Also, the film had absolutely incredible photography (very stylish) and a good plot with tons of cute romance stuff and plenty of interesting twists and turns as well. Overall, if you're a fan of romantic dramas and/or time travel sci-fi films, I'd recommend seeing The Lake House in theatres.

Bravo!

There were holes throughout in terms of the time travel logic, but I didn't mind. I just accepted what it presented and had fun with it.

Still no signs of it. I would love to build a nice 12 screen theatre with stadium seating in PF or in Lusby. I am sure it will put a hurting on the ones in PF and LP.

I would also love a nice theatre in the area. One with lots of screen and digital projection and sound. It would be great. The current PF theatre isn't the worst I've been to (the Lexington Park one wins that dubious award), but it is fairly grubby and so tiny.

Just watched this movie tonight. I figured this movie out early on (which means a lot considering I had no clue about The Sixth Sense until the end where most people figured it out early on). Luckily The Lake House threw in a pleasant twist at the end that I was not expecting, but I was still disappointed. :ohwell:

Really? I figured it out early too, but I still really liked it. And that's saying a lot, because I do not like Keanu Reeves and usually will not watch his movies. I just thought it was a sweet little story.

Yeah I was surprised that I didn't like it and I usually like anything that Sandra Bullock is in, but... :ohwell:

I thought The Lake House was a very nice movie. It was a sweet, understated little love story.

And, Angel, since when did most people figure out The Sixth Sense early on? I think the movie was so popular because people didn't figure it out early.
