The little one

My son was potty trained by 3 (he is 4 now) and the only thing that worked was me telling him he could not go to school or play soccer if he peed and pooped in his pants. He was so excited to go to school and play soccer that was it....no more diapers....when it is time for real school I hope he does not revert.....cause I hated school. My daughter is tougher for some reason. I am trying the school trick with her too because she sees him going to school and she wants to now. So we shall see how good it works the second time around.

My son is 3 now. He'd be happy not going to school. He has started hiding behind the couch when going in his Pull Up. I'm hoping that he's so embarassed of himself that he'll start to use the potty.

The parents told me that they tried the "you can't go to school if you don't use the potty" thing too and he told them "I don't want to go to school. I want to go potty in my underwear." I've been over there when he tells his parents that he just went in his underwear (what he calls his pull ups) and wants to be changed so maybe he's starting to feel uncomfortable being wet??? They have put regular underwear on him and he just does his business and keeps right on going about his life.

Mine was in regular underwear for a few weeks doing well. His sister started to walk and that was the end of that. No lie, he stepped on paper on the floor and just whizzed. Right in front of us. We were just :jet:.

No. Him and his sister had gotten into my newspaper an hour before that and spread it all over the floor. But the idea has crossed my mind. I just wish I had a privacy fence. Hell, my baby brother learned how to pee on a tree before he'd go in the toilet.

I just heard a cute story. The parents put a diaper on a hellium balloon and let the balloon fly away with the diaper. The kid never wore diapers again. Pretty neat, but I think it may only work with an older one and mine is only 22months right now.

Socki, maybe you could try this with your little one. The other suggestion was leaving the diapers or pull ups out for Santa Claus to take on Christmas Eve and leave big boy or big girl underwear in place of them.

I know someone who has a 3 1/2 yr old boy who isn't even close to being potty-trained. Only goes on the potty once in awhile and is proud when he goes in his pull-ups. I think it's a long road ahead towards a diaper free life for them.

Dag, thats going to be rough if the go to pre-k next year.

He has 20 pairs of various character underwear. He doesn't care. He would laugh at the diaper flying in the air because he knows that money grows on trees.

I tried.

In that case, buy him a pair of forum thongs. He doesn't have those too, does he?
