Exactly. Many people are unaware that these official DoD and Military Service marks are protected by law from unauthorized use. The Lanham Act, also referred to as the Trademark Act, dates back to 1946. Other trademark licensing laws and regulations also exist that give the DoD, each Military Service, and other DoD Components authorization to protect and license their names, insignia, seals, symbols, phrases, and similar identifiers.
They avoid the appearance of promoting a specific product or organization by not allowing their insignia to be viewed.

I bought my house in 2008. I was also approved for 400k, which I thought was absolutely rediculous. I bought within my means and have not been underwater like so many other people did and lost their homes.

Then there's this.

Then there's this.

If they ride down the Black Rightousness Railroad, instead of credit worthyness, my wager is they're insolvent in 10 years.

Did you not see the actor's uniforms with the branch name and their insignias (both uniform and cover) blurred out? Why did they do that if they have the backing of the armed forces?

Perhaps because they cannot show them or it would count as a govt endorsement which they cannot do?

Oddly enough, I had a similar situation to the penguin things. I was on the flight line at VX-20 a couple years back. Got a text from NAVFED. "IF you have not initiated a purchase in the State of CA for footwear for $600, please respond NO to this message". I did just that and got a response back in two minutes, "Your card has been cancelled, please see your local branch where a new card will be ready in 30 minutes"

10 or so years ago, I was in CA on vacation with my daughter. We stopped at the store to grab some towels and snacks for the beach. I made it halfway through the parking lot when I received a call from NFCU to verify that the charges were legit.
