No, in most cases the government pays or helps pay for most of them and their kids through many government programs and hand outs. They don't rely on men anymore............They rely on the tax payers!

I'm really tired of the media trying to glorify single mothers and making them out to be almost like hero's. Not all, but many are just sluts and are trash who can't keep the legs together. They don't even feel ashamed for being low lifes. No morals. Society is breaking down. Of course many people who have single mothers don't understand this.

This is one of the most interesting factoids presented in that article:
"Almost all of the rise in nonmarital births has occurred among couples living together. While in some countries such relationships endure at rates that resemble marriages, in the United States they are more than twice as likely to dissolve than marriages."

I would not have expected to have seen non-married couples giving birth together. I always imagined single mothers giving birth without the sperm-donor anywhere in the picture.

I do know what you mean, and here's why. I wouldn't have an issue with it if, in contrast to the quote I quoted from the original article, men and women stayed together despite not going through the formality of marriage.

The thing is, I believe children of both sexes need a good, stable home environment in which to grow up. Part of that environment is a product of a man and a woman. There is a missing element in a child's development when they have no adult male influence in their lives. We see the results of decades of a lack of male influence in children's lives: just look at any inner city in any large town or city. Generation after generation of emotional babies raising babies without moral, responsible males anywhere in the picture for more than a night or two at a time.

I have a hard time fully agreeing without putting any blame on men just sleeping around however I believe a woman should be ultimately responsible for BC since they are the ones who get pregnant.

Now factor in the issue of them wanting to get pregnant, or not caring whether they do or not and I do not know what to say.

My best friend has a theory on why there has been such an increase in children who have autism or Asperger's Syndrome.

Years ago, men with autistic like behaviors remained single; they were considered odd or wierd and social misfits. Fast forward, in today's technological age, many of these men find good work in tech fields. They can work in their little cubicles, honing in to perfection tedious and repetitive work. Many of these men are well-educated today and bring in good paychecks. Many of these types have become the new "marriage material" that women who wish to marry are looking for.

So..... if my friend's theory has merit (which I think it does).... what we now have are

lots of kids without two parents being born to unmarried women and an alarming increase in autistic children of two parent households.

I am a college graduate who married the father of my child ( also a college graduate)shortly after the child was born. When I discovered I was pregnant, the father was working out of state. His insurance company would not pick up a pre-existing condition of pregnancy. If I left my job, there was no COBRA back then. I never considered asking taxpayers for help. So I worked until I gave birth, and then we got married and have been together nearly 30 years. My mother told me that usually men don't buy the cow when the milk is free. She believed this all her life. She just said we were the fortunate exception.

While I stand on the hypocritical side lines of this point... I will say this. While I have bent over maybe less than 50 women in various states and countries. It really wouldn't bother me one bit if it took a little more effort, or, if the women I refer to would be a little more reluctant to put out the ass, and hold a little higher standard to the quality of man to which they spread their legs for, the world would be a little cleaner... Same thing goes for men though to... Just because you have genitalia by no means gives you some right to throw it all over just because you got an urge... God gave us youporn for a reason.

I could honestly care less if women want to have babies by themselves as long as they do not make it the problem of the taxpayer.
And please do not lump everyone into the "family values" group. I am as far from religious as you can get and I still think it is a shame so many people do not think about the best needs of a child before bringing it into this world.
