The REAL WMD

BTW, it is known that the big boom WMD's were moved out of Iraq before we showed up.
I don't think it's "known", but it is believed by many intel accounts (especially Israeli intel) that large shipments of WMD were transferred into Syria. The left and mainstream media don't want you to know or believe this.

At this point, considering the time that has past, it would be virtually impossible to find these weapons.

Ya'know I just don't think the war is justified. But I'd rather be fighting the wrong war than no war (like Slaphappy wants) at this day and age. If Hillary Clinton had her way, there'd be no boots in Afghaniastan.

Google "Georges Sada", the Iraqi Air Force General who wrote a book describing the situation. He's mentioned some concern about the WMD's continuing to be in the hands of the Syrians.

Do you mean the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, both? Your statement “I'd rather be fighting the wrong war than no war… at this day and age” perplexes me. You consider this to be the wrong war?

The democrats had no problem sending our troops into Kosovo and Somalia (and a whole list of other places) to die for places that had no WMD and were no threat to the US.

Iraq, by all accounts, internationally, was deemed a global threat with WMD. His actions against our military in the no-fly-zone over a decade and constant threats against Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Israel were considered (in rhetoric) acts of war. His use of WMD against Iran and the Kurds were considered international crimes. Seventeen UNR’s and twelve years of diplomacy had failed. Then there is the WMD debate. But think about it, INTERNATIONAL CRIME! If we hadn’t gone to war, this international criminal would still be committing his acts of crime instead of being held accountable for them. I don’t know about you but I get satisfaction seeing Saddam fighting desperately for his life in that courtroom, and this justifies the war all by itself.

Following 911 and suspected ties between Iraq and al Qaeda (and other terrorist organizations), at what point is war justified? Were we to wait until a nuke or chemical warhead exploded on our soil? Were we to wait until Iraq got to the point of N. Korea?

I think Iraq is the wrong war to be fighting. But to quote Bill Clinton, "It's better to be strong and wrong than weak and right."

I agree, I'd rather be fighting in Iraq than be fighting this war in ... New York, Washington, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, etc...

And I really don't think Saddam was willing to attack us because he tried fighting us before.
The point of our invasion wasn’t necessarily to prevent Saddam from attacking the US. It was based on the belief he had WMD and ties to the same terrorists that attacked the US and the those two factors would eventually merge. And he was a major threat to the mid-east region. This in addition to his defiance of the international community for 12 years demanded a response.
