The SUV bubble : Market Getting Flooded With Used

In My Opinion
I've always liked the, "It's getting close to 100,000 miles on it, I need to get rid of it." excuse. Now if you were driving a Dodge Chrysler/Plymouth product then I'd understand.
like a dodge product is going to make it to 100,000....:killingme:killingme

60 maybe,, 100 :killingme:killingme:killingme

I've yet to see a Voyager of that vintage that wasn't spewing smoke due to bad engine parts.... they are slowly coming off the road as they die.

As I said .... we had the valve guides redone once, remand heads a 2nd and the 3rd time mom locked up the motor, so I replaced the Engine and Trans ...

Not entirely true. The public WANTED bigger vehicles, the companies responded to consumer demands. It's isn't up the the car companies to dictate to the public what they will and will not have. The govt does that job well enough.

Yeah the Socialists and their Eco Freak Friends ALF and ELF .... if these people really wanted to decrease the population or mans foot print, they would off themselves like lemmings ...... and let the rest of get on with life :gossip:

It's also because the Auto Worker Unions would never let auto manufactures make super efficent plants like this!!!

A must see video in efficency!!!

detnews.com | Webvideo | Ford's most advanced assembly plant operates in rural Brazil

yeah because efficacy means less workers, which means less dues to give DemoRats running for office, which means less workers to represent ... don't ya know Unions are only about adding more members holding brooms, not actually working ... :buttkick:

Here's what I want to know, why doesn't GM offer their full size SUVs and vans with deisel engines? Simple, yet effective, way to increase the MPG. If I could find an oil burner Tahoe/Suburban or 12 passenger van, I'd buy one.

By law they can't. Has to do with number of passengers, tow ratings, blah blah blah...I asked the question at the auto show last year.

In 2010, GM and Ford both have small diesels (GM's is 4.5L) that will be available for the 1500 and Suburban and Hummer, unless they scrap the idea altogther due to teh low truck sales number thing. But everything that' ive read about the GM 4.5L Diesel makes it look REALLY good. 40mpg+, 310 Hp, 520ft-lb torque...

From the clean floors and uniforms of the workers in the Brazilian plant, looks like a perfect place to be a union broom holder. No dirt, no noise, no sweat.

By going to a 35 MPG vehicle you'd save $150 a month.

You forgot to factor in the raise in insurance for covering a brand new vehicle. My husband pays more for his truck insurance than I do for my car-even with my terrible driving record- because his truck in newer. With that increase, it all should even out on the bottom line.
