We tried the new restaraunt earlier this week, and will definitely go back. If you want spicy, I recommend the Pad Ka Prow. Not the hottest Thai we've had, but pretty good for down here.

Pad Ga Prao is actually what it is called but you're right it is very good and Nitro is correct too the decor is horrible.

I visited a few days ago and ordered the Satay. Good, meaty portions of chicken, well seasoned, with generous portions of peanut sauce and cucumber salad.

I also ordered Panang 'Thai spicy'. Another generous portion at a fair price. It was pretty good, but not as spicy as I am accustomed to. Weak chile and peanut flavors, but with a nice basil taste. Additionally, the dish contained an assortment of broccoli, bok choi, and carrots, but no slivers of green chile or birds eye peppers. Again, not what I am used to.

I will definitely visit enough times to try the entire menu, but if I can't get the food authentically hot and with chiles my visits will be once a month instead of three times a week. Still, I am very glad we finally have a Thai restaurant and recommend everyone try it at least once. Many folks couldn't hack the fiery stuff anyway.

I have officially given up

Well, I have gone back to the ThaiInter several more times, and each time was more dismal than the one before. Even after speaking to the gentleman up front (owner?) I couldn't get my food prepared anywhere near spicy enough. Many folks I have talked to share the same opinion. Several resorted to asking for the condiment tray and dousing the food with chiles. And what's with all the non-traditional vegetables in the food? Carrots?

My worse fear is that when this places goes under no other Thai place will come in to fill the void. I know this isn't the west coast, where great Thai restaurants are everywhere, but Lexington Park should be able to attract at least one good one.

The impetus behind this rant? I drive past ThaiInter every day, and the sight of it only reminds me how much I am Jonesing for Thai food. And I'm too tired after a day at work to cook it myself.

I have the money and they have the restaurant. Is it so difficult to take my money and serve authentic Thai food so I can fall into a post-prandial coma with a warm, burning stomach?

I'm done. Gonna go make myself a BLT. :burning:

Well, when it goes under(you know it will b/c everything has in the same spot), there's a good Thai restaurant located in Charles County off 301 in White Plains.

It's a shame ThaiInter is going to fail, because the owners did a really nice job with the interior. Just not the food.

I used to go to Suporn's in White Plains, but I heard there was a name change. Is it under new management? I hope the food is as good as it was prior to the name change.

Feeder reports?

I was so excited to try this place, so... the Man and I finally had lunch there a couple weeks ago.... The Drunken Noodle was yummy, but the veggies were a little under done. I think I will give them another whirl and ask for my veggies to be cooked a little longer. The Man was pleased except he would have prefered more spice in his dish. Usually in Thai Resturants, as far as spicey is concerned, you can ask for one star, two star, etc. (for more spice), so we will ask for extra stars next go round. We usually go by the three strikes your out rule, so they have a couple chances left in our book. We shall see what happens.

I am pretty sure Thai Inter is a chain. There are other Thai Inter places that can be found on the Internet and the menu is the same. With that you realize that the menus and ingredients are "fixed" for the "majority" and the "majority" does not like food that is very spicy.

I've eaten at Thai Inter twice; once with Sharon and once with other forum members. Sharon does not particularly like the place. The forum members and I ate lunch and it was pleasant. The food had good taste. It was not particularly spicy, so they brought the condiment tray. I loaded up with the hottest stuff which was still not very hot. I'm the kind of guy that chews up the peppers in the General Tso's chicken. I grow Thai peppers and habineros too. Some like it hot; I like it very hot.

I disagree about the interior, it is "Asian tacky" and you can sit in one spot that is lit up like the sun and other spots are on the dark side, I wouldn't mind if all of the seats were kinda on the darker side but some spots are totally lit under floursent light.

My wife's mom is Thai and knows the owner. She has mentioned some of complaints mentioned here but I guess to no avail, we prefer Hot Noodle over ThaiInter as it stands right now.

Management changed back in November last year. None of the original staff is there since they changed the name to Cha Bar. The food is still good! (Try the Chili Basil with pork!) They don't have duck anymore though. The Cha Bar is still my favorite place to eat in the Waldorf area.

We MUST chat. I am a hot addict. I buy Dave's by the gallon and eat haberneros like chips! I agree that the Thai Inter food is good, but the owner actually scolded me for putting too many peppers in my soup! :lmao:

I finally got to check this place out. The food wasn't as good or as spicey as I thought. Don't get me wrong, it is still good food!!! The atmospere still reminds me of Roy Rogers/Hardees/whateverelsewasthere.

I just like the Cha Bar in White Plains better. I'm spicey!!

Any recent reports on this place? I'm guessing it is still open because friends want to go there this weekend for dinner. I really am picky about Thai food - it has to be fresh quality ingredients and spicy. I don't have really high expectations for this place. I hope I'm wrong.

It's still open.

I'm not big on Thai food but I do enjoy the food there from time to time.

I think it's really good. It's not very spicy, but they'll bring you the spice tray on request so you can doctor it.
