I recently read The Wished For Country by Wayne Karlin, a local author. I originally found the book on a Post book review list. It features Calvert, Father Andrew White and Margaret Brent, among others, as characters. It's worth the read through, but it's not on my favorites list. It seems at certain points that the author tried too hard, and the rest of the book labored to keep up with it. I'll give it :yay: :boo:
If anyone wants my copy, they're welcome to it.
