So basically you're saying that when it comes to the welfare of a child, the state's power is always greater than the parents'. Good to know.
Not even close to what I said.
The parents have the opportunity to care for their child's education in many more ways than the public school system. In this case, they are attempting to abuse the system so they don't have to exercise personal responsibility for their own child. The public school system is designed around the majority needs, and this particular child doesn't fit that. There is no requirement for the child to go play piano. The parents have three choices; conform to the requirements of the school, pay for their child to get an education while choosing to let their child travel to play the piano, or try and force everyone around them to conform to their individual situation. They chose the latter, and I think that means they suck.
