They should give the teachers stun guns

This school must be in a different part of Germantown than the one my wife did her practicum in.

These two ideas should be required reading for most, if not all parents today.
So you think I should write a book and make millions? I like that idea too. :yay:

Now all I have to do is have a few kids to make sure my ideas work...

If this thread carries on long enough, you're going to have all the materiel you'll need to make that book tenable. :killingme But there again, it depends on who critiques it, and whether they look at it in a positive or negative light.

But that does not mean everyone can not be good at something... even the boneheads. Children just need to be guided correctly.
But then you get these parents with frustrated dreams that they project onto their children. Run by any peewee football game and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's like these kids are little status symbols and they will make you proud OR ELSE!

 If the kid does not perform well obviously the coach taught him improperly.

So the parent attacks the school, or, as we saw recently, the parent jumps out and attacks the opponent before the parent can be embarrassed.

A supreme act of self-indulgence indeed. Putting oneself before their child's welfare. Like you said earlier, this produces children that are equally, if not more, caught up in themselves. :ohwell:

What a can of worms you two have just opened!

In one instance, you have the parents projecting their unfulfilled dreams or goals onto the little kids' endeavors, ie., PeeWee sports, wanting them to do well, in a way, that maybe, they never were able to.

Then, they place the blame on someone else's shoulders, as to why the little ones aren't able to perform in the manner they expected them to.

Now that, my friends, requires some serious psychoanalysis! :lmao:

I completely agree with that.

Many kids these days don't even get constructive criticism. We hear story after story about schools removing competition in everything from sports to academics to supposedly prevent children from feeling bad about themselves if they're not as good at something as their peers. Ideally what you do with the kid that's weaker in a particular area is teach them to do it better, or focus them on something they ARE good at.

Some schools have done away with recess. Claims a child might get hurt or may loose a game.
So now instread of letting kids blow off stream and energy, and coming in for crackers and milk and a nap, they have no more recess, and one more "class".
What is going on with schools these days?

I do not disagree with you, but I am not convinced a taser would have helped this teacher.

The story is not specific enough about how the two boys attacked the teacher, but I am guessing they surprised him and knocked him down. By the time he realized what was happening his neck was already broken and the kids had run.

I found this bit about the boys interesting as well:I wonder why this action was "in process" and not immediately done.
Because it has to go through the principal, than to a "Student Services" department. Aftyer that, it goes to an "Administration" department and then it goes to the Superintendent. After all that's happened, the parent goes in and appeals to Student Services, and student is allowed to attend still. Now that that is made4 to Student Services, this goes to the Administration department again...

There's too much beuracracy in the schools these days. Meanwhile, the schools can independently suspend a kid for drawing a picture of the American flag.

So you're saying there is a lot of red tape.

Some punk harrassed me - among several others - when I was in the 9th grade. I know he had been suspended several times, but his actions eventually earned him an expulsion, and as I recall it didn't take an excessively long time to put through.
