Thighs

Not a big fan of chicken thighs, but, bought some at McKays when they were on sale. Found a recipe for them using a crockpot. Made them the other night and they were delicious!! Brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard and apple juice. Mix it all together, pour it over the thighs and cook on low for 4 -5 hours. I served fresh squash and fresh stringbeans and jasmine rice with it. Yummy!!!!!

I'm a convert. Thighs are the ####. Breasts are hit or miss and expensive. Thighs just taste good, every time, every way and they're much harder to ruin.

Not a fan unless they're pre-boned. It always seems that there are big pockets of fat that don't melt out unless the bone is removed.

Same here. That's why I never cared for them, but, the ones I got were skinless and boneless. Very good tasting. You should really give them a try.

Thighs; the rib eye of chicken. :yum:

Grill them bad boys on low for an hour, that's the stuff, boys and girls. :buddies: Made quarters last night. Delicious!

Did you just throw this together or are there specific measurements to the ingredients?

There are specific measurements but, I usually just eyeball it. Lets see, I believe it called for 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of Dijon, 1/2 cup of honey and 1/4 cup of apple juice. This is for 6 - 8 thighs.

Or even better, brine them in a salt solution overnight then low and slow over charcoal for an hour. Make you wanna smack yo mamma!

Wings are in a different category from wings/thighs, each having their own merits. Neither is better than the other.

However, breasts are generally out.

My SIL lived in Germany for 3 years and learned how to cook German food. She hammers the chicken breasts down to where they are very thin and does a Chicken Schnitzel it is out of this world good. My favorite way of eating chicken breasts

I'm not a huge drumstick person because they always have those gross veins and weird things going on, but other than that I love all the chicken parts. Like, the real parts, not the guts or other inedibles - chicken gizzards and livers are a thing in the midwest. You can get them on certain days at KFC. Barf.
