God loves you. Here is your sign. I don't know you and I love you too, because God told me to.domeglowing said:If there is so much good and God is so great then where are the real stories? With proof, and by that I mean proof, not just something some is reading into it. I asked that I get a clear sign from God and I am still waiting.

Domeglowing has a good point here. The problem is that when men try to make up some kind of cutesy analogy about how God relates to man it tends to fail on at least one of several levels.domeglowing said:you are on a roll aren't you? two in a row....but again I am still waiting.

a) Often the person making the analogy doesn't know much about or understand the person hearing the analogy.
b) Often the person making such an analogy doesn't really understand God that much either.
and
c) Often the analogy simply leads to more unanswerable questions such as, "How did they wipe their asses?"
Jesus made many such analogies which were often preceded by, "The kingdom of heaven is like..." And these are by far the best analogies because Jesus understands God and Man perfectly, but if you take them too far or make too many assumptions about it they too will break down in the end.
The one language that all men understand is love, and I don't mean me telling some guy on the internet that I've never met that I love him. I mean showing the people that are in my life everyday that they are valuable to me and that I care about them.
So, domeglowing, if there are not any Christians around you showing "that" kind of love then that is a big problem with the Church. There's no analogy that will suffice. Imagine trying to explain a heathly marriage to a man that had never met a woman.

Toxick said:d) Often those listening to the analogy are incapable of grasping a metaphor, or are being deliberately dense.
brendar buhl said:O.K. Can't argue with that. In fact, that would be the case with the metaphors that Jesus used. Some people (myself included) simply miss what He was getting at. It may be because they are being deliberately obtuse or it may be that their minds are occupied with the cares of life, etc. My point is that the reality of Christianity is best demonstrated through the action of loving people.
P.S. Nice ass, domeglowing!

While you are traveling the road of life, there are always opportunities to change the course of the road you are on, good or bad. Since noone knows exactly how long the road of life is going to be, it's always best to do your best to ensure you are on the correct road. Once you reach the end of your road of life, there is no chance of turning back.
buddy999 said:God shows us that He cares by sending people to us that love and care for us. When we are growing up, it's up to these people to teach us the difference between right and wrong.
After all these lessons are taught, it's up to us as individuals to decide through our faith in GOD which road through life we are going to travel. Hopefully you will have enough faith to take the correct road.
