This doesn't make sense

I just called Dr Robert Miller's office to schedule an appointment for Friday. I was told that they only take same day appointments now and to call back on Friday. When did this start? I can't understand the purpose of this. Now instead of guaranteeing my son has an appointment, I have to hope that I can get him one.

So, if they only take same day appointments how do they know they're not available until Friday? Am I missing something?? It is Monday, right? Hehe...

It's been that way for months. I don't like it.

I don't like it either. I called in December for an appointment and without seeing my son (just based on the symptoms I described) they called in a prescription for him. Maybe it's time for a new doctor.

I left their office a LONG time ago! Dr. Reed was the only good thing that office had but unfortunatley it wasnt enough to make me stay. I actually sent him a letter asking him to let me know when he decided to go out in his own :yay:

I loved Dr Brubaker. She was with the office years ago and left about 4yrs ago. I agree with you though. Dr Reed is great.

They do that for sick visits. If you are trying to schedule a physical, you have to make those appointments several weeks in advance.

Dr. Miller himself is getting worse as he gets older. He's been rough with my kids and then doesn't understand why they get upset. Dr. Reed is better and the newest doctor in the practice, Dr. Smith is wonderful.

I like Dr. Smith. She's very patience and took her time with me to make sure I understand what she's telling me about my kids. I had Dr. Reed twice and I'm not comfortable with him yet mostly because of communication issues, but his skill as a doctor is very good.

Dr. Miller seems to rush and doesn't take the time. I would feel very frustrated because of communication issues. I can't even read his lips and his handwriting. :pullinghairs: Also, he's trying to get me to get cochlear implant up in Baltimore.

I try to make appointments with Dr. Smith or Dr. Reed.

I have a call into Dr Sheth's office. They are checking to see if they will accept new patients and if they take our insurance.

Why?? Because I think it's nuts that I have to wait and hope to get an appointment? I work and can't just stop everything and take my son to an appointment unless it's an emergency. I need to take leave from work.

I understand and it's nuts. We should be able to make an appointments when we want it.

I never liked her. She tended to be short and dismiss my concerns. Always seemed to be looking to get on to the next patient.

Maybe she was nicer to me because she knew I could have sued the crap out of her for misdiagnosing my son's hernia and it almost cost him his life. I hope I get in with Dr Sheth. He's closer and I've heard great things about him.

But will any doctor do a regular check up in less than a week's notice? I've rarely seen that happen with any doctor. They all tend to be booked up for weeks, if not months.

It's not for a check-up. He has had a cough for weeks and all I keep getting is prescription being called in. They won't see him in the office to really diagnose the problem.

She blamed herself. I didn't blame her. She felt so bad that she didn't see any signs but even the surgeon said that there were no signs that would have been noticeable because he was born with a thin layer covering the hole and it didn't rip until he was a few days old.
