Well, Joe is a horrible human being. Apparently he apologized privately - not publicly like he smeared that man - and the family was willing (or coerced) to let it go.

But Biden accused that man of being drunk numerous times, even though he knew it wasn't true. So it's not like he got new information and was like, "Oh, well, okay, I'm sorry I said that." He knew it was a lie when he was spewing it. Especially since his wife was at fault - she pulled right out in front of him. With her kids in the car.

He had no problem with his son cheating on his wife with the widow of his beloved son while vp, not to mention others things from that setup.
