Police: 4 dead in mobile home, hanging infant still alive

HUDSON OAKS, Texas (AP) -- A relative found the bodies of a 23-year-old woman and her four small daughters hanging in a closet in their mobile home Tuesday morning, all of them dead but an 8-month-old, who was taken to a hospital, the sheriff said.

Mother hung her 4 daughters then herself. I just don't get it, why take the kids? 8 month old was hung, but survived. What a miracle.

I know isn't it just horrible? I was watching it this morning before they knew the age of the child still alive. When they mentioned the age I was shocked. I mean.. hanging any of them is terrible, but how do you hand an 8 month old baby.

Yeah, that's the trouble with choice. She chooses who she sleeps with, then whether he/she uses protection, then whether to keep the squab or give it up for aboption, then whether he/she gets the tubes tied....

I don't mind at all if the wellfare mommas exterminate themselves. I take issue when they start taking innocent kids with them. If they didn't want them they COULD have had an abortion since no matter what the public opinion of it is, it's still legal.

She wasn't out of options. She was out of her mind, yes...out of options...no.

I was dumb and didn't put the two together- I assumed somebody had murdered them all. I never thought of the possibility that a MOM could do that.

Ah, what the heck:

You can't really expect responsible behavior out of certain types of people. They've got the "trash" gene in them and that's all they know is how to have sex, squirt out children and try to figure out how to avoid taking responsibility for their lives.

When we see stories like this, we immediately envision our own children - clean, well cared for, smart, funny, bright futures. But chances are real good that these kids would have grown up to be just like their low-rent parents and been a burden on society. They showed the trailer park on the news and this was one #### hole, let me tell ya.

So...sorry. There it is. You can't really expect common decency out of people who've never been taught any, no matter how much liberals wish we were all alike and had the same mental capacity and desire for a better life.

I was listening to some nutjob say that it could have been the father (perhaps miffed about having to pay child support for four children). Something about how he could have snuck in during the night, strangled the mother, then hung the kids and left (locking the doors behind him, of course!).

The concept of a mother doing such a horrible thing to her children is just so foreign to most people's sensibilities that it seems they'll go to any lengths to suggest otherwise.

OT, but I heard another story on the news in my car that these two inmates (convicted child molesters) are trying to sue because they are being mistreated by other inmates. What is this world coming to? My heart just bleeds for them. Thing is, they will probably win.

This is where you are wrong! Not all children raised in trailers or trailer parks turn out to be trash! I didn't, my sisters didn't and my brother didn't! So I completely resent that remark! Just because you are poor does not make you trash! My father worked his ass off every day and so did my mom, but we just didn't have the means to live in a house! My mother raised me fine! I was always clean, I was always full, and I always had clothes and a home. It was not a "House" but it was my home and its all we had! So before you go spouting off about such things, maybe you should get to know some of the PEOPLE you call "trash"!
