Thoroughly Annoyed.

R.I.P. Bobo, We miss you!
Several years ago, this older couple moved into the house next to my grandma's. Nice enough people, until they stopped taking care of their dog. They would leave him outside without any shelter, never feed him and he was lucky to get fresh water once a week. His collar was too small and started to get into his skin, in which my grandma promptly removed and purchased a new collar for the neighbors poor dog (They clearly didn't care). The flies were so bad that they would gnaw at his ears until they bled. These people would leave for two weeks and leave the dog to fend for himself.
For 4-5 years, my grandma took care of him. They told her that they didn't care. All my grandma asked was that if they're leaving, let her know so she could watch the dog. Well about two weeks ago, they up and left again and the dog was horribly sick. He barely moved, stop eating, and when you touched him, he let out a horrible whine. There was no way to contact the owners, again, they didn't care.

So my grandma did what any reasonable person would do and try to get help for the dog. Well, the idiots at the PG Humane Society refused to do anything, they told my grandma that it wasn't her place to mess with the neighbors dog, no matter how sick he was. She called again the next day and they finally took him. He died three days later from heartworms.

Can you believe that? People make me so angry.

And THEN, my grandma is outside about a week ago.. and they already have a new dog.

They should be reported and the new dog removed, that's putting it nicely as I won't mention what I'd really like to see happen..This is PG??

I can't even begin to tell you how angry it makes me to hear things like this. If people aren't going to spend the time to love/train/feed/medicate/do the necessary to keep their animal healthy, what's the point in having it. They should leave it for someone else to have to do what's right. Some people for some unknown reason get an animal and it ends up being a lawn ornament, not a very attractive one that is, being left outside to get unhealthy etc. It;s just beyond me why someone would want to deprive an innocent animal from the loving caring life it deserves. People like that should be left outside with no food water or shelter and tied to a tree on a 3 foot rope with a collar digging into their flesh around their skin and having the flies bite their skin, having the parasites infec their intestines and being just col and scared out in the dark all night alone. It makes me hurt inside to know 1 that people are doing this, and 2 the people we are supposed to be able to rely on in these kinds of situations just won't come through for the sake of the animal for whatever reason! I hope someone does take that puppy and give it the life it deserves and bless all the people that think the same :)

then i wouldve stolen the dog, and found it a new home.

if the legal authority has determined there is nothing wrong, then you buttinskis need to stay out of it, or wait until there is an ACTUAL PROBLEM to report and stop crying wolf. Stealing someone elses pet (especially one that is being cared for temporarily) is just out right wrong.

let animal control and the human society do they jobs. stealing this or any other dog will just make you a theif.

I fully agree but what can we really do legally? As much as we care, not sure about you but I wouldn't want to go to jail or have charges pressed against me, or have the neighbors do something to my home....if the law was on our side and not the terrible owners, then maybe I'd think differently, khow what I mean?

Can you legally, no. but my conscious would overpower the legality of the issue. If a cop can kill a dog and the homeowner can't sue because it is merely considered property, then I guess stealing a dog would be no more than a stealing property and if the owners don't make a living off the dog, i.e., dog shows, then i guess it would be theft under 500, slap on the wrist IF caught, but to do it and not be caught seems like it would be easy if these people care so little about their animal to begin with.

what part dont you understand? this dog IS somone elses property. While you may not agree with the way they treat it, if they are with in the letter of the law, you (the royal you) need to mind your own business. You have no right to circumvent the law and commit the CRIME of stealing this persons dog.

I guess if someone doesn't agree with people keeping dogs in crates, even though that is completely legal, they would be justified in breaking into homes to "free" these poor mistreated (in their mind) animals?

The humane society has been called several times over the years. Nobody cared. PG = Full of idiots. :[

If the previous dog was finally taken and died at the Humane Society, and they saw the neglect? They would of listened to the second complaint with the new dog and talked to them or taken him/her!

Don't stop calling them! Where/what county is the dog? What kind of dog?
