Wireless notebook here and my router and modem are on a UPS. Power was out last week and the better half was sitting in the dark watching the reflection of the candles on the TV screen while I stayed in the forum. I'm good for about 2 or 3 hours.

I have heard that the metal coils do wonders for blocking lightening.
