Has anyone else noticed a bunch of these already this year? I'm not sure if this is because we've relocated since last year or if there are actually MORE ticks than every before.

How do you manage to get ticks when you're inside all day and night racking up them 17 thousand posts?

I think and have heard that's it's because of all the mild weather. We didn't have a hard winter to kill them off.

Thank goodness I already started the girls on their preventative... whew..</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I would suggest you keep them on it year round. I have always done so with my dogs while living here--simply for the reason I stated above. JMO :smoochy:

As soon as the night temp goes above freezing - I start the preventative - but the girls are vaccinated against Lymes as well. The same goes for their heartworm preventative and so on - meaning, I start before I see mosquitoes..

I pulled one off my daughter (it was crawling up the leg of her PJs!! She really didn't like that, but she's 2... :ohwell: ) and my husband found one downstairs. HEEBIE JEEBIES. I hate hate HATE them.

Right Where I Belong
Hubby got one on him when he was at work. He said he was only outside a short time and not near the wooded area when one crawled up his pant leg.:ohwell:

I can't stand ticks, I always get the heebeejeebees(sp?) everytime I pull them off the ponies.

What I truly hate is when someone looks at you funny and then says "Don't move, there's something on you." I normally start screaming at them to get it off of me while trying not to upset whatever kind of bug is on me.

Just me
My husband had one crawl up his pantleg, and he was just out a few minutes, trying to get the dog to come in. I've started the dog on the flea and tick preventative - hope it works. I should probably get some for the cat, too, even tho we don't let him out.

Hartz makes a spray on repellent that keeps the ticks from wanting to hang on to the fur. I use it on my schauzers because even tho the Advantage kills the ticks that bite them, it doesn't stop the ticks from hitching a ride into the house.

Why don't you just shave your schnauzer again so they're easily visible.
