Hi All-

I just "adopted" a stray kitten. I was wondering if anyone knew if Tidewater in Charlotte Hall has good vets for cats. Or any other suggestions of vets near Charlotte hall would be appreciated.

thanks

Tidewater is great, so is St. Mary's Animal Hospital, but they are a bit pricey.

I take my kitty to St. Mary's Animal Hospital and have been very happy with everything they have done for me.

Thanks for the quick responses! I actually stopped by Tidewater the other day, but they couldn't get me in for a while, so I tried another place (Banfield at PetSmart) and they got me in that day. They were very nice and helpful at Banfield, but I kind of got the impression that the vet didn't know too much about cats. I'm still unsure of how old this kitten (cat?) is. I was a bit concerned about Tidewater because it really smelled of urine, etc. Banfield did not. Of course Tidewater has been around forever, so they may not be able to do much about it. I used to go there when I was a kid because the farm I worked at took their horses there. So, I guess the overall concensus is that Tidewater is fine and I should just accept the smell as par for the course, right?

Dr. Tasey (or however you spell her name) at Tidewater is Da BOMB! She is great with our cats. All the Dr.'s there have been really good with our animals (2 cats, 1 dog), but I really liked the way Dr. Tasey seemed to connect with them. She settles them down right away. Even had our cat that we rescued from under my shed as a stray kitten purring while being checked out and getting shots.

Dr.Terry in Callaway Villiage center is great... I have taken both my dog and my cat's to her and she is about the same price range as tidewater.

I second that, one of my dogs has to be muzzled everytime we bring her to the vet (she gets shaken) however Dr. Tasey is the only one who does not muzzle her and she is fine with her.

That's Dr. Jennifer Tacia - she did the first check on my dog after I got him - she's good. I believe she owns cats, so it's safe to say she's good with them.

Cathy Bennett at LP vet clinic on Great Mills rd is great with cats. Her specailty. I had one that had his leg tore up down to the bone and she fixed him up and you would never know it happened....
