When does it close for the season?

CrashTest said:Wow – looking at the calendar, that’s a tough question. Typically, John Taylor would close the bar on the 2nd Sunday in October. This year, the second Sunday in October basically falls within the first week of October!! Closing that soon would seem premature.
Either way – it shouldn’t be too hard to get an answer. My guess would be 15 Oct.
RoseRed said:He usually closed it on the holiday weekend that was usually the second weekend. But the holiday falls the first weekend this year, that is why I made a guess as to which one.
TY.CrashTest said:You are correct!! John’s closings always did coincide with Columbus Day.

Wonder if he used to own a red Corvette?ohstate said:Unrelated, but sort of related to the Tiki - we were there Sunday afternoon when a group of bikers took off (a few of them like crazed people, one actually popped a wheelie). They just got around the corner when one of them went down. We were on the boat headed out when the ambulance/firetruck arrived, so we didn't see anything I was wondering if anyone knew how the rider was?

My wife called and asked if I heard why there was a helo at the SVRSFD field Sunday afternoon. Probably related, so it sounds like he got what he deserved.ohstate said:Unrelated, but sort of related to the Tiki - we were there Sunday afternoon when a group of bikers took off (a few of them like crazed people, one actually popped a wheelie). ohstate said:One funny moment. The bikers are across from the Tiki at the parking spaces, getting ready to go, revving engines, etc. A woman on a bicycle is cruising down the hill (from the lab area) as they seem ready to pull out in front of her. The sight/sound of her ringing her little bicycle bell as a warning to these guys not to pull out in front of her seemed was highly amusing. You could barely hear her bell with all the engine noise.
