Tired of buying bad food

I'm tired of buying bad food. In the past month I have bought raspberries and blueberries that had mold on the bottom, pork chops that tasted like they were a year old and now a frozen entree (which I rarely buy) and the turkey was green around the edges. How old is this stuff when it's at the store? Disgusted and tired of throwing out food and money.

Giant?

My previous post about the ground beef coming in tubes applies to almost all grocery stores, not just McKays btw.

I don't buy meat at McKays, the whole section does not smell right.

The ground beef comes in big tubes that is coarsely ground, the store grinds it again to get it more like what people are use to buying for ground beef. The premade hamburger patties are just a slice off one of those tubes with the bandsaw, ever notice they have a rougher texture than the regular ground beef?

I never noticed. This is all making me sick now.

I've had this experience in several stores, Giant, Food Lion, McKays, and Shopper's. I'm now a compulsive date checker and it drives my husband bonkers. I know shopping around a holiday is a bad idea due to the amount of items with expired dates on a shelf. Perhaps the staff of these places on pulls expired dates of certain products on rotating days of the week.

I've had it happen too but it seems more frequent now. I always check the dates and the stuff is still bad. I guess I've complained enough for one thread.

Never. You can complain all you want. I hate wasting money too.

I have no idea why this is happening, but it seems to be
1) an employee/staff issue - not pulling expired foods
2) a refrigeration/temperature issue - with food molding or going bad
3) a lack of appreciation for customers and their hard earned dollars. After all, we have to eat.

I blame self check out. If a store doesn't hire the staff, then the work isn't getting done.

I think it's a refrigeration issue, whether the store itself or during shipment or both. I admit I have purchased meat in the past that was marked down 1/2 price because the expiration date was the day it was marked down and never had a problem with it being bad.

I think it's laziness. I have a friend who works somewhere that has a soda display case. She constantly has to double check what her employees have done stocking it because they can't seem to keep it in their heads that they need to put the new stuff BEHIND the older stuff. They keep trying to load the new stuff in the front because it's easier.
