My plan for when my gf moves here is to introduce her daughter to PFGal's daughter and hopefully PFGal will be willing to trade babysitting duties.

'Course, I haven't told her that yet.

No I don't think I could ever be that desperate. In my worst post partum attacks I would just put the twins in their cribs after I had fed and changed them and call my husband when it got to a point where I couldn't function.

I can't believe some people and what they will do to their children. If you think having kids is that much of a cramp in your lifestyle give the children to someone who will care and see them as the gift they are. Albeit a noisy and unconsollable one at times!

I got a REAL dose of the terrible twos last night.... It was my fault though. Sunday evening I wasn't feeling very well and instead of having the normal "Sunday night fight" to get him to bed I let him go to bed with me. Well last night when I tried to put him down by himself the tantrum of all tantrums began. He refused to even lay down in his bed and when I turned off the light and walked out of the room the screaming commenced. I have never heard a child scream like he was. I thought he was going to make himself sick. Then he gets out of bed and walks into the living room. I told him to go back to bed or I was going to spank his butt. He threw himself on the ground and screamed. When I got up so did he and he ran into his bedroom screaming. I tried everything, threatening to take away things, offering to give him things the next day, spanking his butt. Nothing worked. Finally I turned his lamp on but the overhead light out. He screamed for a while then finally went to sleep (or so I thought). As soon as B got home from drill and opened up the front door Noah was out of his bed and running to B. B tried to put him to bed and even sat there with him. Even that wasn't good enough he was now crying for mommy. It took both of us staying with him until he went to sleep. The entire ordeal took two hours. Then I felt guilty because he was so worked up by the time he went to sleep that he was still sniffling in his sleep. I have too much of a soft spot. Tell you what though.... I'll never voluntarily let him go to bed with me again even if I am sick. :frown:

Hey Kirsten,

Ridge Vol. Fire Department will be holding a baby sitters course soon, which will be done the second Saturday in April. I know that they are an eager bunch of teenagers that will be looking for babysitting jobs. They are a great bunch... so if you're interested in finding one of those to babysit... let me know...

I'll PM ya later. (Remind me if I forget. TIA:biggrin: )

Pixie it is really hard. Our oldest got into the habit of sleeping with me until Daddy came to bed then he would move him to his own bed. It started out when he was about 15-18 months old and he was REALLY sick, on the verge of being hospitalized for dehydration because nothing stayed in for long. I set the bad precedent of letting him sleep with us then because it was easier to keep a check on him. By 2 he never wanted to leave my side and it took another few months of coaxing and bartering and such and finally I just said. That's it you are in your own bed. I will read you a story, I will cuddle for 5 minutes, and then you are on your own. However we also have an issue with night terrors in the kids so sometimes they end in our bed but it is far less frequent. I will tell you an upside to the twins, they look to each other most times first, and then the other side of that coin is sometimes all the kids end up with us. Good thing we have a California King Size waterbed.......

Hey Appy I am willing to give her a try as well as the other offers I have gotten. Right now I need to get to know the area and people so I don't feel SO isolated. I am not a neat nick, I am a control freak so somedays I am EXTREMELY hard to be around. I just think I would feel less closed in if I at least had people to talk to down here, go get a cup of coffee and talk with sometimes.
