ewww...surgery...

Funny, I had it years ago and my dentist told me to drink a glass of wine before I went to bed.

Guess you've already tried the drinking thing, huh?

Still trying it, but I will try harder.
Seriously, I didn't know they did surgery for that. Thought they made you try the "retainer" type of thing first and other methods. Can't remember the name of Otter's oral surgeon, but he's in Calvert...

Surgery is a last resort, and usually doesn't help.
I go to John Hopkins (ENT) next month, he may know something.

Huh. I have it and never realized it. :ohwell: I just get the popping in my jaw, usually on the left side, while chewing once it awhile. It comes and goes, and has never really bothered me other than the sound.

The site contains, overview, symptoms, causes, treatments, etc.

I've had it as long as I can remember. No pain, just the occasional popping. Never attempted to correct it, or find out what caused it.

Good Luck.
Thanks

The TMJ connects the lower jaw to the skull (temporal bone) under your ear.
Some think this is why my ear is leaking whenever I eat.
