To the owners of the A&E Motel in LP.

I live behind the BK and my streets are quiet all day. But as soon as it starts getting dark my kids are made to come in. Its a shame they can't play outside their own home without being afraid! My teenager thinks I'm mean because I won't let him walk to the Checkers and back with his friends. He doesn't believe me about the violence, I came home from a doctors appt. one day and they had 3 guys face down in cuffs on the street where Checkers is now. That was a few years ago, there is no way in HE!! that boy is walking down that road without his father or me with him! And yes, it does affect your property values!

This is a shame. like I said I have a few friends living back there and it seems like a nice quiet neighborhood. All his neighbors are nice and he's never had any problems. Is there a neighborhood watch in this area?

Getting back to the A&E Motel. I noticed the name on the paperwork is "Indian". I have no problem with legal immigrants coming into our country and owning businesses but this just irritates me even more.....

I'm referring to the type and the way they are operating their business here.

But, if it is drifting into the first part of our neighborhood, it's only a matter of time before it's in this neighborhood for good. I do know for a fact that a convicted sex offender lives on Lynn Dr. My children never leave my cul-de-sac because of this tidbit of info. My two younger children are ALWAYS with their big brother and none of them ever leave my sight!

I know which house you are referring to with the sex offender. My wife and I did the search in that area and he's the only one back there. Not bad considering the size of the neighborhood. That Blue pick-up truck always parked in the driveway never seems to move. I'm wondering if actually lives there....

No I'm not, I wouldn't be able to take my house with me! I love my house and my husband loves his job and I don't foresee us moving anytime soon. We just happen to have a few houses for sale on my street. Also a good friend of ours is retiring to Nevada and will be selling theirs soon. It has brand new hardwood floors in the upstairs and really nice counters and cabinets, a huge deck in the back. If your interested PM me and I will get you some more info.

Spring Ridge Middle School is actually a wonderful school with an extremely dedicated staff that truly cares about the success of their students. Have you by chance taken the opportunity to look up the data on state testing to see how much growth their students have had in the past two years. I think its
time for the community to stop putting down schools and get out and help them.

oh get off that.My sisters kids went there along with their friends and that school is dirty, and a sad excuse for a middle school. I had seen first hand what that school is.

Please share what you mean by that comment. How is it a sad excuse for a middle school. Its a wonderful school with wonderful students. Sure, not all of the students there have as much money as some other schools, but that does not make the school a bad school. The kids and staff show up everyday ready to work hard and be nice. Please better educate yourself about this topic!!!

Funny thread...shows how times have changed. 27 years ago when we moved down her we couldn't afford The Belvadere on a Navy salary so we stayed the night at the A&E. I remember my kids playing kickball in the parking lot that evening with other kids were were staying there too.

I drive by the A&E Motel everyday, sometimes after dark. I see the same people loitering around outside on the property of the A&E Motel. It doesn't take an incredibly observant person to notice that those individuals aren't standing there just for a little fresh air. One would think that with this area being a known hot spot where questionable activities take place that the members of the local law enforcement would police it more frequently and make a few arrests. It's too bad really because there are some pretty nice folks that live in Lexington Park in the neighborhoods behind the Burger King and the Checkers.

For the record I don't have a problem with Police Officers but I do have issues with my tax dollars paying for law enforcement officials who don't do their job.

For your information local law enforcement does patrol the A and E motel daily, even perhaps hourly. This isn't the only nusance spot in Lexington Park. Call your BOCC and tell them we need to have more police officers to rid the county of places such as this. There is no law against loitering, and our narcotics officers do raids at the A and E often. Our patrol officers are in there constantly. Don't blame police officers for not doing their job when you have no SPECIFIC instance to point out.
