Three weeks of rolling home from the bars at 0500, triple-espressos and a 50-cent 16-ozbeer to kickstart the next day off at 0800 in the ship repair yard. Was on that shipyard assignment in Malta....trying to keep up with a former Coastie that was 10 years my senior and with 20 years of that service under his belt. I know I aged 10 years in three weeks..but I hung in there.
