Green goodness? Wuzzat?

I'm thinking instead of doing a smoothie with ice and whatnot I'll just do it with yogurt, make more of a fridge temperature drink. Cut it with enough water/milk so I can put it in a sippy and spare my poor, abused carpet further abuse.

It's a veggie smoothie type drink, taste good too !! Taste like fruit juice.

Ingredients are...

PINEAPPLE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE (WATER, PINEAPPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE), APPLE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE (WATER, APPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE), MANGO PUREE FROM CONCENTRATE (WATER, MANGO PUREE CONCENTRATE), BANANA PUREE, KIWI PUREE, SPIRULINA, NATURAL FLAVOR, CHLORELLA, ZINC SULPHATE, GREEN TEA, SPINACH, BROCCOLI, VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID), BARLEY GRASS, WHEAT GRASS, ECHINACEA, GARLIC, JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE, LEMON BIOFLAVONOID, NOVA SCOTIA DULSE.

He also likes the Blue Goodness and I give him the C-boost too !!

Put it in the blender with some ice and vodka and you have an adult beverage you just have to drink 'cause it's good for you...:alkies:

If they don't eat it, they don't need it. Make every bite a nutritious bite, and give Vitamins.

I use a magic bullet and when i make it for me i put frozen fruit in it giant has in the bag and then put a handful of 2 different fruits u want to try in there in place of having to add ice cause its already frozen. then i put in some greek yogurt and then fill with milk and it comes out really thin so your son can drink it through the sippy cup..i haven't tried using frozen veggies and yogurt and milk to make veggie smoothies not sure if it would work the same or not sorry i can't help you there

My kids were never given a choice of what to eat. They ate what my husband and I ate or it was thrown in the trash. My oldest had a bad gag reflex until age 3 or 4 so everything was put in the blender for him to eat. My boys might fuss over what they are served but they always eat it. My youngest was helping me make dinner last night and pulled out a can of lima beans and asked when the next time was that we'd have them. I don't serve lima beans very often but I guess, in his own way, that was a request for them.

:wootwoot alert wootwoot: Hey, Momma... this is a clue for you... 2 year olds are quite crafty at manipulating their Momma. If he is eating fine for the daycare provider you are the problem. Stop giving him choices and he will see you are no longer jumping through his hoops. If he doesn't eat much, don't sweat it.. he isn't going to starve or suffer ill consequences.

I am speaking from learning the hard way... start breaking the manipulation cycle now... while you have a good headstart.

Cannot emphasize this word enough. Kwillia's right. Stop the cycle now!!

My mom used to be upset when I gave Thing1 his choice of eat dinner or not. She thought I should at least offer fruit later, so he didn't go hungry. I told her he was definitely power struggling me - he would hold out for the fruit! She couldn't stand that he might not eat and thought I was going overboard. THIS is from the woman who made La Choy Chop Suey when I was a kid & either I had to eat it or get nothing. I hated it, it made me sick to my stomach! :dead: So, when she made it, I KNEW I wasn't getting dinner. To be fair to ME, I wasn't a toddler - I was about 11 or 12. By then, I think things are not really about manipulation and you could at least offer another option like PBJ. But no - I had to eat that crap or I didn't get anything else. I won't even choose that from a Chinese food restaurant to this day!

But when they are toddlers/preschoolers almost ALL kids will eat when they are hungry, it's a basic human necessity. My Peds used to say that over the course of a week, a normally developing toddler will actually eat enough food and not to worry about 1 meal here or there. It makes sense, because portion sizes are so much smaller.

I heard/read somewhere that a toddler's stomach is about the size of an adult's fist so a little food goes a long way. They don't have to eat much to get enough to eat.

Oh man, I was all braggy that my son was eating just about everything...but, now he seems to have put the brakes on just about everything. I wonder if it's a stage they go through. He's eating very little at school and has refused dinner the past 3 nights. He'll eat fruit snacks (sugar free) and chicken nuggets (baked), that's about all for the past 3 days. Oh and water, milk, and juice.

It's a stage. My 5 year old goes through it every few months.

This is what I thought. But, he's either eating what I make, or not at all. I'm not starting that habit of making multiple dinners.
Just make sure he takes a vitamin every day. My Son (now 40), lived off of one sunny-side up egg a day for the longest time, then when he turned 10 years old, he would have ate the Kitchen Sink if he could. If they don't eat it, they don't need it. Just make sure that every bite they take is a nutricious one.
