Toe Nail Clip Issue

I have two that hate having their nails clipped and It's kind of a battle, I refuse to declaw though.

I only have one cat, but I have scratched up things all over the house. The latest to suffer is my couch. View attachment 61285

I won't put my cat through a declawing either. As a result.....well, you see the pics.....

My cats love the corrugated cardboard scratch pads that you see in Petco, I keep their nails clipped and give them a desirable catnip enhanced place to scratch and they do great leaving the furniture alone. Our formal living room set is 10 years old and other than a few threads showing on the sides it has escaped mostly unharmed.

I used the squirt bottle method on my cats when they were kittens.. now then I catch them and just say Ah-Ah and they know to stop!
