neat I have been looking for shirataki noodles! Have you ever tried dreamfields? I finally got a hold of some..and it is really good! gave it to SO and he didn't even notice a difference...got the penne.

I made them tonight, and they really were pretty good, they had an odor when you open the bag but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be.

I rinsed them with really hot water for a while.

Then made up a sauce using a few tbs. cream of chicken soup, salt, pepper, garlic, threw in some already made chicken salad, and some american cheese.

then added the noodles into the mixture, poured it into a casserole dish and topped with some - low carb whole wheat crackers smashed up.

then baked it for a while. One thing I'll say is that they are super filling, package states 2 servings... but I could only eat a half of a serving.. It was quite yummy!

oh i forgot .. also added sliced mushrooms.. kinda a chicken stroganoff

You might want to check that out, McKay's is SUPER notorious for having out of date items, some WAY out of date. I was in there on Thursday afternoon buying cornmeal, one brand on the shelf had silk worms, they must have hatched, only the dried up worm casing was left. The date on it was March 09 :barf:

I bought some at Woodburns on Saturday. they did smell, but the packaging says they will, and that the par-boiling will remove that. They didn't really taste of anything as far as I can tell, but they did pad out the spagetti sauce I had cooked up. They were more expensive at Woodburns by about 20 cents, but they were still in date!

Can someone tell me which McKay's carries them and where they are located in the store? I was in Leonardtown McKay's and they had no idea what I was talking about. I did look in all the refrigerated sections but couldn't find them.

I got some in McKays in Great Mills last week. They were in the fresh veg section - wasn't expecting to see them there but that's what makes shopping so exciting, right!?!

I wondered how those low carb/cal ones tasted hmm.

My Dad used to make his own egg noddles from scratch and I swear he gave me the recipe several times and I never could find it when I wanted to make them. I recall egg, flour, and ???? I guess I could look up recipes for that online. I don't even have a rolling pin anymore though ..... guess I'll have to get one.

I'll stick with my homemade semolina pasta.
