Tom Clancys Calvert County Home Catches fire

raven

I SAID IT YES I DID !
Firefighters were called to the home on Camp Kaufman Road in Calvert County about noon for a fire on the deck. When they arrived, flames had engulfed the deck and extended into the house. A second alarm was called, bringing about 50 firefighters to the scene.

Interesting that two authors have had fires in the past month. Nora Roberts Bed and Breakfast burned just a short time ago. I am not sure where in Maryland her place is.

That area is considered Huntingtown and has a 20639 zip code.

It's true - I've never seen a more screwed up boundary line than the one between Huntingtown and Prince Frederick. If you come down Dares Beach Road (which is Prince Frederick) and hang a left onto Wilson Road, you only go about 1/4 mile and it suddenly becomes Huntingtown. But yet, if you continue to travel down Dares Beach Road into Dares Beach itself, it remains Prince Frederick. It's almost as if Dares Beach Road provides the boundary between Huntingtown to the left and Prince Frederick to the right. Very strange...

But if you look up Tom Clancy's house in the Assessments and Taxation database online, it is technically considered Huntingtown. It's just not the Huntingtown everyone pictures (as in Cox Road/Huntingtown High School).

Incidentally, he owns 80 +/- acres at the end of Camp Kaufmann road only. He may own other properties in the area (which you can find out easily enough but I'm not tellin' - - not that anybody should care) but they aren't on that road.

It seems that it's Wilson/Emmanuel Church that is the dividing line but the homes off of Clay Hammond (Lottie Fowler, etc.) are Prince Frederick. :jameo:

It is weird, isn't it? I wonder if it's always been that way? We've been here for 20 years but they built many of those homes back off of Wilson Road, etc. since then. People tend to be hung up on a Huntingtown address...it's much more prestigious than good ole' Prince Frederick.

You think he was grillin' on the deck or he had placed ashes on it?:faint:
Wasn't his house used in the film Patriot Games?
