Under construction between Mervell Dean Road and Rte. 235.

Another soon to be "crash intersection" to be followed by yet another traffic light.

Sad that folks cant understand how to operate a simple merge, isnt it. I give Tom kudos for doing this, actually. Enlightened self interest. I have never met him, but have bought two vehicles from there and been quite happy. Dont blame the road, blame our system of driver education and licensing that makes lights a requirement at simple intersections due to driver stupidity.

you are sooo right! Drivers are the issues... they dont pay atten., or just in a big hurry!

It just pisses me off someone will risk MY life and their life to pull across two lanes of traffic... KNOWING they are going 55mph PLUS! Instead of waiting a few more min till its clear and safe!

Tom is building that road? He certainly can't build a road like that without the DOT and county buyoff. Therefore, I hold them responsible for any cluster f$#k that results from adding that road.

Tom donated the land to the county so the road could be built. Therefore you should hold the idiot drivers resposible for the cluster.

Wrong. It's like having a huge data network that's made up of old, malfuctioning and misconfigured equipment, used in an old, outdated architecture, and think the solution to slow network response is to just throw more bandwidth at it.

Actually, from what I read, he's actually paying to have to road built, on his dime, his land, and then he's donating it to the county. Face it folks, the cluster at these simple intersections isnt the fault of the itnersections. Anymore than %98 of computer problems are the fault of the computer maker. Idiot users make fools of all manufacturers.

Then the county thinks it's a good idea. Otherwise they wouldn't have given him the building permits. I don't think Tom is a traffic engineer.

It gives people easier access to his business.

You hit the nail right on the head. He says in an article that he wants to give back to the community so he is building the road for us. Not likely... More likely is tired of having potential compulsive buyers drive by on 235 without direct access.

Crossover = more accidents, owner of auto sales company builds crossover road, more crashes means more sales - Brilliant!!

Isn't this the sort of thing we want to happen? Where a business does a thing in its own interest that also benefits the community? Instead of just using influence to get the gubmint to foot the whole bill?

School buses? That's silly.

Do you think them making a 170 degree turn at the bank is better?

To add to this, from what rumurs I heard, they will close St Johns cut over and make something like at Korner Karryout. But that is just rumors.

I think the cut over in front of Tom Hodges is a good Idea. Drive a bus for awhile and anything that will make things easy is a welcome change. Plus Tom does not need that road there. He is selling plenty of cars without it. Might it help, yes but he spent a lot of money to make it happen
