Helluva finish. :yahoo: Happy had one heck of a run. GF asked about the yellow flag and all I could say was "It'll be debated for some time to come."

Any of you guys see the pit guy who was run over? Looked like both legs got run over. Hope he's ok. Wonder what his status is.

I saw it; later heard he was iced and released from the in-field care center. :yay:

Analysts said the Daytona 500 needed a good finish - here it is! And ... KEVIN HARVICK WON THE DAYTONA 500!!!!! HE WON THE 500!! 5 wins last year means nothing - he won the Daytona 500.

What a finish!

Still, sorry about Tony, Mike. Once more, victory eludes Tony Stewart in the Great American Race.

And FYI, I hate Harvick, love Martin. :lmao:
I like Mark alot. Always one of my longtime favorites. I also like Kevin. It's just like watching the Redskins and the Jaguars playing... Either way, I'd be stoked.

IT'S THE DAYTONA 500!!! :yahoo:

Yep, it started with controversy, and it clearly ends in controversy. :ohwell:
Ya'know, I can't complain. I'm sure Pete will be here to disagree, but fans have been complaining that the caution comes out on the last lap and they don't finish the race. No matter what, NASCAR can't win. If that was Junyer beating Harvick or Martin, I'm sure more fans would be celebrating. That's a wild finish. The fans got what they paid for, an EXCELLENT finish.

Had it been Jimmie Johnson instead of Harvick, I'd STILL be saying Martin was robbed. NASCAR just needs to be consistent ... There were people behind that wreck, as well. Is their safety not as important as the five up front who weren't in that wreck?

I didn't care who won... I was pulling for Mark but man I'm jacked up that Harvick won!

This is one for the ages, that's for sure!!!

The reason I throw the :bs: flag is because Nascar is always saying that they'll throw the caution flag and the race will end under caution even under a green-white checker. And they're setting a precedent. So does this mean they'll never throw a caution on the last lap ever? What about the safety of the drivers BEHIND the crash, or doesn't that matter?

Again ... :bs: :bs: :bs:
I reviewed the tape and at the moment Kyle Busch started spinning, which is when NASCAR would've thrown the caution, Harvick was ahead.

Actually, Andy, Nascar would've more than likely thrown the caution flag about 2 seconds after the spin began, once they realize the driver won't save it and it will potentially collect other cars. I don't recall ever seeing a caution come out THE split second a spin begins because, in some cases, the driver can self-correct.

And, if you go back and watch the race finish, about 2 seconds AFTER that spin appeared to be unable to be saved, there was a different car in the lead. :bubble:

But hey, I just call it like I see it ... week in and week out.
