Kong or a Wubba! We have to use a nickname when talking about Kong or he won't let us alone. The Dollar store has ropes and small stuffed toys. He eventually destroys both (maybe 2-3 days), but at a dollar a piece, who cares? Ours is part lab. He operates on the stuffed toys, taking the squeaker out first and then all of the stuffing. He's just as happy carrying around a flat toy as one that is stuffed.

All three of our slove this one, which could be due to the fact that when we first got it, there was only one to share for the three of them, but we've bought more since. Just make sure you get the big ones - I inadvertantly bought the 5" online, and it's too small.
I also second the Kong. For something different, try the Kong Wooba.
