Early 90's Ford Escorts had Mazda engines. Most Japanese cars are assembled in the US. It's all one big happy family now.

The NUMMI Plant in Fremont California used to produce Toyota Corollas and Chevy Nova's...which were Corollas that had Chevy insignia. The old Ford Ranger mini-truck and Mazda B-2000 were almost identical under the sheet metal as well. And Dodge used to import Mitsubishi cars and trucks and slap a Dodge or Plymouth Sticker on them as well (they even had one model named a "Sapporo" where they once held the Winter Olympics.)

As it turned out, Ford owned between 25% and 33% of Mazda, and Chrysler owned a similar chunk of Mitsubishi.

Does anyone remember the Buick Opel? The original Opel Kadet was built in Germany (Opel being the European subsidiary of GM), but Buick later imported a small Isuzu car and called it an Opel.

This is all getting awfully darned confusing....I'm wondering where GM is building Caddy's these days? Anyone out there have an idea?

No it would have 13" gold plated daytons. 24"s wheels come from the ghetto.

But yes its very possible. Alot of the companies have done it for years, then they dont need to do as much research for an engine for a certain car. Theres alos a Saturn suv that uses a honda engine. The later nova, corolla geo prism where the same cars with the same engine. Car manufactures have done it for years. Some of the chryslers even have a mercedes benz engine in them.
