Traffic vigilante on GMR this AM:)

Damn, craziness. About say 730ish, near International Beverage. Heading eastbound, ahead of me, through traffic, I see a silver Mitsubishi Evo, passing half in the left lane, half in the center breakdown lane. "What kinda nut pulls a pass like that?" I think to myself. He didnt appear to be flying, or otherwise acting like a road rager, just passing illegally using the center lane.

So, after passing the two cars ahead of me, I come upon a small base model pickup, in the left lane. Who then proceeds to signal right as if he's coming over into my lane. So I slow from the 45 or so I was doing, figuring I'll go around him when I get a chance to use the left lane.

But no, he doesnt finish the lane change, he stops halfway through, now he is straddling both lanes, and he sticks his hand out the window, holding up four fingers, waving his hand like crazy, I think he was trying to tell me the speed limit there was 40.

That's nice, thanks for the memo. But no, he stays that way from the crest of the hill down to the golf cart/shed joint. where upon we come across the EVO, who has gotten in the right lane, and has slowed to 30. Pickup guy get back into the left lane, to pass the Evo, who slips back left to block the pickup.

I pull up in the right past the pickup, even up with the Evo, and match his 30mph for about 20 seconds, long enough for him to roll down his passenger window and give me a thumbs up, before I accelerated back up to to 40 or so. Events over at this point, but I was amazed, I have never seen anyone deliberately split lanes like that to set a speed. I did not see the beginning of the interaction between the Evo and the truck, but based on the truck just doing the same to me, with less than a 10mph difference between us, and the Evo drivers lack of rage, I tend to think the pickup guy was the problem there too.

 prob the same dude that tried that to Prep....rode in two lanes in front of her for a while, she pulled up along side him and he was signaling 3....0.....3...0... with his fingers for the speed limit. She just proceeded to signal back to him the sign for Fck....you.....fck.....you.......with her fingers. :lmao: Then sped off.

I went down GMrd aroung 8:30 and I love how the hoodlums that walk around there all day everyday are now walking in the road b/c the sidewalks are not cleared. Group of five of them walking side by side like they owned it

thats when you do the brush bys. get as close as you can when you drive by. maybe even splash em a little with snow slush. They get real pissed...but they don't have rides so they give up running after you as soon as their pants fall down.

I actually thought about that but there is never any water or slush where they are. Funny how their shoes always look brand new tho

This same douchbag does this on GMR all the time. Has happened to a guy I work with multiple times and I've had the pleasure of this a$$hat subjecting me to his traffic management tactics. I gave him the same "Fck...you...fck...you" with my fingers!!

who ever it is is causing a traffic hazard AND playing cop. Next time get the lisense # and report him/her to the sheriff's dept.

I've seen him on 235 do the same crap. He's in a red pickup.

We're all mad here.

From what you've said, I'd agree with that last statement. It sounds like the guy in the pickup is also an aggressive driver and is yet another nut that needs to be pulled off the road in addition to the Evo driver.

call 911 and report drunk drivers

Great idea - I've seen the guy too. He was pulling that crap to the car in front of me and I was wondering why they had suddenly slowed down - and why they were hanging out of their window yelling something.

By the time I went by the guy in the truck, he had stopped acting like an idiot and pulled back into the left lane. If I see him again, I will get his tag # and report him.

You would think that with as many cops who patrol the GMR area, they would see this guy.

Find him, call some friends, and create a rolling blockade in front of him going 15. Box him in so he can't turn off.

Ok, maybe not, but it would be fun!!!

We did have him boxed for about 20 seconds or so, which doesn't sound long, but is a goodly amount of time while driving. I dont know the guy in the Evo, but we worked well together. His slowing moved the guy to the left lane, and once he did, I moved up to keep him from coming back over.

Someday, that man is going to do this to the wrong folks, not guys who will laugh like the Evo driver and I did, and I feel for him then. someone will run his ass off the road.

I would like to be around when that happens.
Just P.I.T. his a** once and he should knock that crap off. "Should" being the operative term.

On a similar but different subject:
This morning on my way to work this morning some jerk-o** was just about in my back seat. If you look in your RVM and can't see the front facia of the car behind you somebody's too close.....right? Well, it made me wish I had done something I hear about on an old comedy show. One of the characters says, 'You know what I do when I get one of those tail-gaters?'
"I reach into the glovebox; flip a switch; slam on the brakes and cash a check.

NOT a bad idea actually.....

Just one more....
For those that pass on the shoulder.....better not be behind me.
Ex: if there are cars stopped behind someone making a left turn; and from behind, cars go zingin' by on the shoulder.....I put a stop to that shiznit. If I am in line behind the left turning vehicle, I drifte over to the shoulder. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten honked at.
I just sit there and :roflmao:

Or even worse than that - someday when he is doing what he apparently feels is his civic duty, which he may feel like he is doing to reduce speed and save lives - HE is going to cause an accident and possibly hurt or kill someone. Or God forbid, involve a bus load of kids since there are LOTS of buses on GMR during the morning hours. Like I said earlier - he's an A$$hat!!!

That plan calls for me to wrinkle my big red baby on a truck that's worth less than my engine:cds: I usually am an hour earlier than that on GMR, was coming back from fetching my badges so I dont expect to see him again, although I am tempted to use some flex time to get some video:killingme. I wonder if he'll settle down for a day or two, he got real meek after Evo and I boxed him. Hung back a ways. I'm sure he wasnt expecting a coordinated response to his asshattery. We could have put him anywhere we wanted to.

This guy has done the same thing to me years ago and my husband has encountered him at least 4 times. My husband has called the county cops on him twice and the base cops on him once. Has even filed a claim against his insurance since he put a small scratch in the side of his truck with his side mirror. So far the cops haven't done anything since they have not witnessed him policing GMR. But they do have his license plate # and the base officers supposedly went to his office and spoke with him about his driving habits since he cuts people off on the base as well (not sure if they actually did but that is what they told my husband).

My husband has gotten out of his truck and yelled at the guy at stop lights but it certainly hasn't stopped him from continuing his antics. I just hope he doesn't encounter my hubby again or I think the altercation will end up on the baynet.

It's her husband now typing. Yes. I called the cops, they did what they always do NOTHING. They can't really do any thing without seeing it for their selfs. He has Red Chevy S-10 new model, I don't want to give his tag number on here. I've gotten out of my truck one time and scared the living crap out of him. Then one time this dick head did the same thing on the base and at that point I called the base cops and got his name where he works and I could have gotten his address, but decided it would be in his and my best intrest not to have that. I then called my insurance company since he taped the side of my truck and I didn't know it and of course he said it didn't happen so it was squashed and now I have a little dent on the side of my truck. So next time this dick head messes with me I will put him in the shoulder and hopefully the cops will be around so I don't do some thing really stupid.
