Training!

Do you have any idea on who to contact in regards to that type of training? She's okay off leash now and we've been working on ignoring things (cars, butterflies, birds, her dog buddy next door) and that is definitely an adventure. But she is so freaking smart I really need to find a positive outlet for her.

There is SO much commitment needed to train these dogs for any type of "working" dog.

Have you considered doing pets on wheels? With her being so little, she'd be great to take to the hospitals and nursing homes for visits. Can you imagine the eyes on a sick little girl or boy lighting up when they see Izzy?

My old dog, Tig, he was therapy trained and very very good at it. He was patient and extremely tolerant of the grabs, tugs, gentle around tubing/wires and trusting and liked every person he ever met except for one. He had the perfect sense and temperment for that.

Izzy has a totally different temperment. She's more inquisitive. She investigates, finds things she thinks are out of the ordinary and alerts you to that fact. She's wary of people and wants to stand off from them before making a decision about them. Due to her temperment and her intelligence level (seems all papillions are rated in the top on smarts), I just really want to find her an outlet that's more worthwhile. Been thinking off and on about it. I did go through tons of training with Tig, so I have an idea of the level of work needed, but I was going to volunteer the giant to take his pirate pup to training. He needs training too. :lmao:
