Oddly enough, there is no mention when he decided to become a she. Obviously, he was still a he when he raped and killed this poor woman.
The first openly transgender woman set to be executed in the U.S. is asking Missouri's governor for mercy, citing mental health issues.

Lawyers for Amber McLaughlin, now 49, on Monday asked Republican Gov. Mike Parson to spare her.

McLaughlin was convicted of killing 45-year-old Beverly Guenther on Nov. 20, 2003. Guenther was raped and stabbed to death in St. Louis County.

She was heard to cry out, "Wait. I'm a totally different person now!"

In the right jurisdiction that might actually work. A male, with a man's name, committed the crime.
But the person in prison is a now a female, with a women's name.
Since it's supposed to be normal, that gender is just a myth, then <preferred pronoun> can claim mistreatment because the prison won't recognize <preferred pronoun> as requested.
They opened Pandora's box and we are all doomed.

OK I'll admit it, I may admit to killing JFK if they gave me fried hard crabs (at least 3), soft crab sandwich and fries with brown gravy laden with ultra high cholesterol guaranteed to kill within 15 minutes and 3 Peroni's or San Miguels ice cold.
I doubt my 7th grade attendance record exist anymore so they can't prove I didn't do it.

They should start using a lethal dose of fentanyl, then a dose of Naloxone, then when they're coherent, repeat the process over and over just to see how many time they come back.

requested classic meal before death

So is there a prison menu that you can order off of?

I find it interesting that a lot of people care what someone ate for their last meal. Like it is going to reveal a hidden secret about their character. They are on death row for killing someone, that's all I need to know about them.

To answer the original question, the transition began three years ago. So taxpayer funds were expended to enable this convict to transition while under a death sentence in a state that doesn't hesitate to light up those sentenced to it.

My analogy is giving a heart transplant to someone with terminal lung cancer.

I'm always interested in what those being strapped to the chair asked for for their last meal. One guy wanted a bag of Jolly Ranchers. Imagine that - your last meal on earth, you can have anything you want, and you pick Jolly Ranchers.

I’d have to ask for a 20 ounce center cut sirloin charred-rare, Baked potato with sour cream, butter, salt and pepper, Grilled asparagus and beets. Double makers mark, dark roast coffee with cream and sugar and a big slice of Keylime pie.
